7YRS OLD PUPIL OF ABODEASE D/A PRIMARY STEALS SHOW AT ASHANTI REGIONAL CROSS COUNTRY COMPETITIOM

 

 

The New Trust Newspaper Online spotted a seven years old class three(3) pupils of Abodease D/A primary school in the Ahafo Ano South West of Ashanti region ,Angela Konadu stealing show at Ashanti regional corss country competition held on Saturday, 11th February, 2023.

Angela Konadu who was given full moral support by a mother, Madam Patience Adjei and her trainer was adjudged as the youngest athletes in the competition and given certificate of recognition at the climax of competition at Mankraso,the district and constituency capital of Ahafo Ano South West District.

Prior to her recognition as the youngest athletes among about 400 students drawn from various schools across the region for long distance race,Prof.Peter O.Twumasi,the Director General of National Sports Authority (NSA) was caught on camera given a big clap to admire the little child.
Almost all officials,spectators and bystanders taught the little Girl was just joking to join the athletes but she surprises all including NSA Director General.

Even though, the Ambulance and other standby buses picked a number of participating altheles in the about 8 miles long distance race from the starting point of Abodease community through to Kunsu-Wioso the ending point but this little girl made it successfully without resting or collapsing.

The mother of little Konadu and her trainer who follow the altheles with vehicles couldn’t also hide their joy after she successfully completed the long distance race to the surprise of all.

Interestingly, this year’s Ashanti regional cross country competition was the first in it kind to had been held outside the regional capital, Kumasi.

The stakeholders were very excited for the innovation by Prof.Peter O.Twumasi ,Ashanti NSA boss and their Ministry for deciding to decentralize sporting acivities.
The NSA Director General who was born and bred at Abodease happens to be one of the youngest professors produced by Kumasi Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST).

Reflecting back on how he struggled to come out of the challenges from Abodease community and by grace of God, hard work now Professor and currently Director General of NSA.
He therefore used the oportunity to encourage parents to invest in the children education as well as areas of interest in any of the sporting disciplines.
According to him,sports is now one of the lucrative professions across the country and children like little Angela Konadu should be encouraged and serves as motivation to other source: Ghc.com
