Alan K has proven to be ‘Wise Builder’ Ghanaian Youth can trust – Ebo Buckman asserts

As the 2024 elections draw near, Mr. Ebo Buckman, a political and economic analyst and a key figure within the Afrafranto Movement, has made a strong case for Mr. Alan Kyerematen, the Movement’s leader and presidential candidate, describing him as “the wise builder Ghana’s youth can trust.” Ebo Buckman’s remarks draw inspiration from the biblical parable of the wise and foolish builders, which he believes mirrors Ghana’s current political situation.

Quoting Matthew 7:24-27, he highlighted the importance of laying a solid foundation, especially in the context of the management of the economy. “For over three decades, both the NDC and NPP have governed Ghana with manifestos that have promised much but delivered little in terms of sustainable economic growth,” Mr. Buckman asserted. He compared their governance to building on sand, leading to an economy vulnerable to external shocks and instability.

Ebo Buckman further criticised past leaders like John Mahama and the late Amissah-Arthur for attributing their economic failures to external factors, including declining cocoa and crude oil prices, which led to IMF bailouts and the Dumsor crisis. “It should never be lost on us that they took a rising economy with a growth rate of 13.4% and plunged it to 3.4% in just four and a half years,” he noted.

The current administration under Nana Addo and Dr. Ebo Bawumia did not escape Buckman’s scrutiny either. He pointed out that, after worsening the country’s economic woes, they too have blamed external events, such as COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, for their economic struggles, leading to another IMF programme, painful financial haircuts, and a return to Dumsor. “Sadly, despite these repeated failures, both parties continue to cling to manifestos that lack the strategic depth needed to address Ghana’s pressing economic challenges,” Mr. Buckman argued.

In contrast, he praised Mr. Alan Kyerematen for offering a clear and comprehensive vision through his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), which he likened to the solid foundation of the wise builder in the biblical parable. He emphasised that, unlike the vague promises of the NDC and NPP, the GTP provides a detailed roadmap for achieving economic stability, growth, resilience, and prosperity.

“Mr. Alan Kyerematen, a renowned economist, lawyer, and development consultant, understands that building a resilient economy capable of withstanding internal and external shocks requires a well-thought-out plan, not mere rhetoric,” He said. He further highlighted the GTP’s focus on fighting corruption, refining the macroeconomic environment, driving industrial transformation, launching a new agricultural revolution, and developing infrastructure and tourism through private sector partnerships, promoting behavioural and mindset change, among other initiatives.

Ebo Buckman stressed that the upcoming 2024 elections present Ghana’s youth with a critical decision. “The youth can either continue with the manifesto-driven governance that has led to economic instability and massive unemployment, or they can choose a wise builder with a comprehensive plan for their future. Mr. Alan Kyerematen is that wise builder. The youth must know their future depends on the leader they vote for, not the political party they vote for,” he declared.

In his closing remarks, Ebo Buckman expressed confidence that Mr. Kyerematen is the leader Ghana needs. “Without a doubt, Alan Kyerematen is the leader Ghanaians, particularly the youth, can trust to lay the right foundation and build a brighter future for our nation. His proposed government of national unity and the Great Transformational Plan stand superior to the current winner-takes-all and manifesto-driven governance system,” Mr. Buckman concluded.

As the presidential election approaches, Buckman’s endorsement adds to the growing chorus of voices supporting Mr. Alan Kyerematen’s bid to lead Ghana as first independent president into a new era of stability, growth, resilience, and prosperity.

This is the Bible quotation he used:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV)Source: Peacefmonline.com
