ARREST INTRUDERS TO OFORIKROM CONCERNED YOUTH DEMONSTRATION AGAINST MP,MCE IMMEDIATELY-Police told
The Ashanti regional police command has been praised for Swift intervention to stop an unidentified group who staged a counter demonstration against approved peaceful demonstration by Oforikrom concerned youth against the Member of Parliament (MP),Hon Emmanuel Marfo and Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for the area,Hon.Abraham Kwame Antwi last Saturday,21st January,2023.
According to the Convener of Oforikrom concerned youth protestors, with swift intervention by police command led by Commander Abroakwa,the unknown group suspected to had been led by some NPP executives of Oforikrom could have marred their peaceful demonstration against the MP and MCE for neglect.
“We’re urging the Ashanti regional police command to immediately arrest and prosecute the organizers of the counter demonstration for not complying with Public Order Act and attempt to cause confusion in an approved peaceful demonstration on the same day’.
Papa Jay with Police team to inspect approved routes for their demonstration
The Convener of Oforikrom concerned youth demonstration, Jerry James Sukah who popularly known in the political space as Papa Jay
Described the assertion by Oforikrom MCE,Hon.Abraham Kwame Antwi that he had no knowledge of the counter demonstration as complete false and hypocrisy.
He told Oyerepa TV that, before their first scheduled date for the demonstration which was postponed to Saturday,21st January,2023 as a result of request from police the MCE told them point blank that as MCE and head of Security for the area, he has the right to stop their protest.
The Convener was therefore surprised that the MCE claims he had no knowledge of the counter demonstration by the group he (Papa Jay) alleged was led by NPP members against their approved protest.
Papa Jay has therefore promised to provide the police and MCE with video of the group who staged the counter demonstration for the necessary action.
Papa Jay stressed that if the MCE says he intends to investigate the matter I will provide him with the video for evidence!
