According to the defence minister, the only apology they will render is to the innocent persons who were brutalized during the operation because the military men were carried away by anger and not or the opration carried out.

In a statement released by the Deputy Minister for Defence over the raid of parts of Ashaiman by military personnel following the murder of one of their colleagues days ago by unknown assailants in the area, he stated that the military was carried away by their anger.

“I will apologise for the excesses, we apologise but we are not going to apologise for the operation,” Mr Kofi Amankwa Manu said this in an interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi.

Meanwhile, the minister has said the government will never apologise for the operation, but for the brutality meted out to the innocent civilians.

“I will apologise for the excesses, we apologise but we are not going to apologise for the operation,” Mr Kofi Amankwa Manu said this in an interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi

The minister also asked Ghanaians to stay calm and not to be worried about the incident because it was a well-corroborated operation carried out by the military high command.
“It was sanctioned by the military hierarchy. It is a well-corroborated operation in Ahaiman”, he said.source: www.ghbase.com
