Ghanaian journalists, especially those in the Ashanti Region, have been called upon to unite in order to become more formidable in all their endeavours.
Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), the former Afigya Kwabre South Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, who gave the advice, reminded them that there is strength in unity.

He made the call during this year’s Ashanti Regional Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Thanksgiving & Get-together ceremony held on Friday, 7th March 2025, at Longford Event Centre at Odeneho Kwadaso in Kumasi.
COKA said, “I’d like to urge you (Ashanti Regional journalists) to unite in order to effectively fulfil your core mandate.
“As a seasoned politician, I would always recognise the vital role of journalists in shaping the country’s narratives and holding leaders accountable.”
He cautioned that a fragmented journalism community can lead to a loss of credibility and impact.
COKA, who has a good rapport with the media, is on record to have contributed significantly to the organisation of the ceremony.
