Ashanti Regional Minister, Asokore Mampong MCE Commission 25 Projects

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah, on Thursday, 21st December 2023, joined the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong, Mr. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, and Nananom to officially commission 25 projects which had been completed.
The 25 projects commissioned were over 45 physical developmental projects initiated by the Asokore Mampong Assembly and funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), GetFund, internally generated funds, among other sources.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, the MCE and Nananom, after the exhibition of the various projects, jointly cut the tape to commission a new district assembly block and an ultra-modern fire service station, both at Asokore Mampong, to symbolise the commissioning of 23 other completed projects.

The Minister was excited that the MCE, in his welcome address, acknowledged the fact that some of the projects completed were initiated by his predecessors.
He said looking at the number of projects listed by the MCE and his team, it clearly showed that they had done well and deserved commendation.
Besides, he acknowledged the peace, unity and the good working relationship between the MCE, Nananom, religious leaders, among other stakeholders; he encouraged them to continue to live in peace in order to push for more projects for their people.
The Ashanti Regional Minister said to help publicise the good works of the Akufo-Addo administration, his outfit had decided to embark on a monthly showcase of achievements sector by sector.
He encouraged all metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) in the region to do same in order to account to their people to know what the government has done within their area since 2017 to date.
He said it is very sad that some people want to create a wrong impression that the government has not done much, adding that despite the economic hardship as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, developmental projects are still going on across the country.
In his welcome address, the MCE, Mr. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, enumerated various projects undertaken by the Assembly.

for the Nhyiaeso Constituency in the Ashanti Region, commended his staff, assembly members, religious leaders, Nananom, Zongo chiefs, leaders of political parties, among other stakeholders, for their massive support.
“I’m most grateful for your unflinching support for me and the Assembly and l encourage you to continue to support us to do more for the good people of Asokore Mampong,” he said.
The Ashanti Regional Fire Service Commander, Mr. Henry Giwah, heaped praises on the government, especially the MCE for Asokore Mampong, for the construction of an ultra-modern fire service station which was part of the commissioned projects.

and district chief executives (MMDCEs) to emulate Mr. Kankam’s good example.
The representative of Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, Asokore Mamponghene, who is also Otumfuo’s Nifahene, Nana Amoah Yeboah II, expressed their appreciation to the government and the MCE for the massive projects.
Nana Amoah Yeboah II who is also Asokore Mampong Gyasihene, who was part of the stakeholders who toured the projects sites ahead of the commissioning, said they were happy about the progress of work at the ongoing ‘Agenda 111’ hospital project which is going to serve as the first municipal hospital for them.
He appealed to the government to make funds available to the contractors to complete the project as scheduled.
“We’re very grateful to the government for the projects done so far but we’re appealing to the Regional Minister and the MCE to follow up to ensure that the 24th November 2024 the contractors have promised to hand over the ‘Agenda 111’ hospital project is fulfilled,” he added.
