Many people in the Ashanti Region strongly believe that the Ashanti Regional Deputy Communication Officer for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), who is also the 2024 NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Asokwa, Mr. Amoh Kamel, deserves to be considered by President John Mahama for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) post in any of the many state-owned institutions.
Whereas his boss, Lawyer Abass Nurudeen, the substantive Regional Communication Officer, has been appointed as the acting CEO for Social Investment Fund (SIF), Amoh Kamel has been shortlisted, including two persons, for the Asokwa Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) post.
Aside from his instrumental role in ensuring that the NDC maximised its votes in the Ashanti Region to secure its massive 2024 victory, he also managed to join the party’s presidential candidate, now the President of Ghana, Mr. John Mahama, across the length and breadth of the region during his campaign tour.
Amoh Kamel, like Uncle Wallace Ababio, Kwame Atuah, Chairman Afayam, the Nhyiaeso NDC Chairman, among a few Ashanti Regional NDC communication team members, has been defending and promoting the NDC over the years and the residents believe he deserves to be honoured with a CEO post so as to encourage up-and-coming party supporters. Party boys should be given appointments on merit.
