“I’m really really excited, happy to be back. It was not easy but the FA had a lot of talk with Dortmund and even though I still have one more year contract, we managed to get out and I’m happy to be home and I’m back home now. I’m really really excited,
I’m looking forward to the first match, (it) will be difficult, very, very difficult especially as we are some points behind the first placed, and as you know only the first-placed will qualify, tough situation but yea, I’m looking forward for the game and I think we will manage it,” said Otto Addo shortly before he announced his squad.
Otto Addo
Otto Addo’s squad begins camping on Thursday, May 30.
The players are:
Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati Zigi, Wollacott, Frederick Asare.

He had taken over the Black Stars coaching job back in February following the dismissmal of Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of attempting to help the Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, evade justice in the ambulance case.
According to the NPP, the accusations leveled against the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, are merely attempts to prevent him from holding Dr Forson accountable.
NPP legal practitioner, Frank Davies said this at a press conference in reaction to the NDC’s version earlier today.
“We have called you here because the NDC have since last week, set in motion a malicious scheme fueled by lies, falsehoods, misrepresentations, blackmail and needless pollution of the mass media with the sole intention of obstructing the cause of justice and scandalising the criminal proceedings in the High Court all in the bid to shield Ato Forson – MP and Minority Leader in Parliament and former Deputy Minister of Finance – and his associates from taking responsibility for authorising some payments, which resulted in a whooping sum of €3.27 million lost by the State, monies that belonged to us,” he said on Monday.
The NPP official was debunking claims in an NDC press conference, where the opposition released what it claims to be an audio recording of a conversation between the Attorney General and the third accused person in the controversial ambulance purchase trial, Richard Jakpa.
This follows claims by the third accused, Richard Jakpa that the Attorney General had previously approached him to help build a case against the former Deputy Finance Minister.
Mr Jakpa said in open court that the Attorney-General had on several occasions engaged him at odd hours to incriminate the first accused and Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
“If he pushes me, I will open the Pandora’s box. I don’t understand why the A-G will accuse me of defending A1 [Ato Forson] when I’m here to defend myself,” Mr Jakpa added during court proceedings on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
The NDC party chairman, Asiedu Nketia, who addressed the press conference insisted the alleged tape validates their claim that the Attorney General, Godfred Dame is targeting the Minority Leader through unjust means.
Also speaking at the NPP press conference was organiser of the governing NPP, Henry Nana Boakye.
He dismissed allegations against the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, as “manipulated facts and distorted narratives.”
Godfred Dame Yeboah, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, must step down or be fired immediately and without conditions, according to a demand made by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The party claims that Mr. Dame ought to face criminal charges in addition to President Akufo-Addo’s dismissal.
, Johnson Asiedu Nketia
The demand was made by the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, at the Tuesday, May 28 Moment of Truth series at the party headquarters.
This comes after the third accused, Richard Jakpa, made accusations against the A-G in open court on Thursday, May 23. Mr. Jakpa was upset with Mr. Dame for his constant attempts to help him incriminate the first accused, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, in the ongoing ambulance purchase trial.
Godfred Dame Yeboah,AG
Speaking to the media, Mr. Nketia played a taped audio clip that purportedly contained the Attorney General and Richard Jakpa’s phone conversation.
The tape contains snippets of the Attorney-General’s voice, which has not yet been verified, requesting that Mr. Jakpa file a medical leave of absence from court until he returns home.
“Considering the scandalous nature of this recording and other forms of evidence we have shown you, we wish to make the following pressing demands as part of efforts to restore credibility to the Attorney-General’s office and Ghana’s judicial system as a whole.
“The immediate and unconditional resignation or dismissal of Godfred Dame for bringing the high office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice into disrepute and public opprobrium. Clearly, Mr. Dame is not fit to hold himself out as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice. He is unfit to be the leader of the Ghanaian Bar,” Mr Asiedu Nketia said.
In addition, the NDC is calling for “his disbarment” and a disciplinary investigation by the General Legal Council into the A-G’s actions on the recording.
“The immediate prosecution of Godfred Dame for multiple violations of the laws of Ghana. We wish to make it clear that should President Akufo-Addo fail to prosecute him, a future NDC government will prosecute Godfred Dame for this heinous crime of fabrication of evidence.
“Commencement of disciplinary proceedings by the General Legal Council against Godfred Dame and his disbarment for conduct unbecoming of a lawyer and more importantly the leader of the Ghana Bar.”
