Dr. Gideon Boako has touted Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the best person to lead Ghana in 2025.
According to him, the Vice President has through his various initiaties to developing Ghana proven himself capable to lead the nation.
Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Dr. Gideon Boako noted that a large population in Ghana strongly believes Dr. Bawumia has outperformed as Vice President, thus he becoming President will see the country make great strides.
“Why do you think a lot of people believe that Bawumia is the Vice President who has most distinguished himself in Ghana?
Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia
Why?”, he asked and answered “many people asserts that he has been the most impactful Vice President because his character is distinct”.
Dr. Boako, who is Spokesperson for the Vice President, affirmed that Dr. Bawumia has “exhibited an outstanding performance that lots of Ghanaians believe he has made a lot of impact as the best Vice President in the country, so to speak”.
“So, if he has achieved this even as Vice President, what shows he cannot be the best President of this country?”, he rhetorically questioned.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is among four candidates contesting the flagbearer election of the New Patriotic Party.
Dr. Bawumia hopes to be elected leader of the party and strongly believes he will lead the NPP to victory in the 2024 elections.
The Vice President came up tops in the NPP Super Delegates Conference in August this year which aimed at selecting five candidates from the 10 presidential aspirants and due to the overwhelming polls he attained, there are predictions he will win the November 4 election and become the NPP Presidential candidate.
New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong ,has emphatically stated that the NPP’s electoral victories are closely tied to his presence and efforts.
In an interview on Tamale FM, the Assin Central MP revealed that despite being offered money to withdraw from the contest, there is no scenario in which he would abandon the party.
He firmly believes that without his participation, the NPP’s chances of winning elections would be severely compromised.
“…without me, the NPP can’t win elections. Do you know how many people are begging me? You know, the money that they’ve offered me to step down? If I step down, we will lose.
With the sacrifices the party people have made, I cannot selfishly take that amount of money and leave them to their fate,” he stated.
Kennedy Agyapong expressed his concerns about the party potentially sidelining him, emphasizing the interconnectedness of their success.
“How can NPP dump me? If they dump me, they will go into opposition. We all need each other.”
He further revealed his determination not to be exploited and discarded by the party, a fate that has befallen others in the past.
“You see, NPP will always want to use you and dump you. I will not allow them to dump me anymore; I won’t do it. I will not sacrifice for NPP, for my children, my family, and generations to be humiliated,” he declared.

VIDEO: We’ll Beat Any NPP Delegate Who Votes For Dr. Bawumia In Assin Central – Ken Agyapong’s Supporter Declares
An avid supporter of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, has threatened to cause mayhem against any delegate who would vote for Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming delegates’ election.
According to him, delegates in the constituency who fail to vote for the pugnacious MP of Assin Central would be physically assaulted.
Screen shot from a viral video
In a TikTok video that has gone viral, the young man indicated that under no circumstances would they allow delegates in the constituency to vote against their MP Agyapong on 4 November 2023.
“I am saying that we will not give you the chance to come and vote in the first place,” the young man sounded in the video. “You cannot step foot in the voting centre to come and vote, and nobody can bring any police from anywhere, nobody can bring a soldier from anywhere, nobody can bring any colonel from anywhere to Assin Central.”
“I am telling you. This (Kennedy Agyapong) is our own and we in Assin, if Kennedy becomes president and he doesn’t even do anything, all that we want is to have Assin in the history books,” he added.
He rained curses on any delegate in Assin Central who would vote for Bawumia on 4 November.
“If you vote for Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, God’s wrath would be upon you. Someone has taken care of you and you can’t show gratitude to him but rewarding him in this manner, God will bring his wrath on you,” the TikToker added.
He did not spare the people of Assin Central, referring to them as villagers in his effusions.
“It is because Assin Central is a village and the people are foolish and do not travel, they don’t know Kumasi nor Accra, f**l, if God wills it and Kennedy Agyapong wins, you would see how shameful you would be,” he added.
For declaring their support for Bawumia, the Kennedy Agyapong devotee used unprintable words to describe the delegates.
The NDC headquarters is increasingly confident that John Mahama will pull a surprise by choosing COP (Rtd)Kofi Boakye as his running mate
Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 general elections, John Mahama, is likely to choose Commissioner of Police (COP) Kofi Boakye (retired) as his running mate for the December 2024 polls.
Sources at the NDC headquarters who are familiar with the ongoing discussion and selection process have indicated that they are increasingly confident that John Mahama will pull a surprise on his party faithful and the nation at large by choosing COP Kofi Boakye (retired).
Kofi Boakye’s friendship with the NDC presidential candidate John Mahama is legendary and an open secret. The former police chief who hails from the Ashanti Region is also seen as being very close to the Manyhia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti kingdom, and deep-throat sources within the NDC say they see COP Kofi Boakye’s choice as Mahama’s running mate as a way of seeking to win the support of the Manhyia Palace ahead of the 2024 election.
Kofi Boakye, however, faces stiff competition from two other names who are also potential candidates and front runners in the race to select Mr Mahama’s running mate for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
They are Julius Debrah, former Chief of Staff in the erstwhile Mahama administration, and Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, the running mate of Mr John Dramani Mahama in the December 2020 general election.
It is a widely-held view within the rank and file of the NDC that the choice of professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman as running mate to John Dramani Mahama in 2020, failed to deliver victory for the NDC in the Central Region and the nation at large.
Julius Debrah. COP (Rtd)Kofi Boakye and Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang
To this end, many faithful of the NDC believe that repeating her as the party’s running mate will add very little to the party’s ticket and may not yield any political benefits to the fortune of the NDC in the December 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
In recent time, the argument for a running mate to John Mahama to be chosen from the Eastern Region, has dominated the political discourse in the NDC. Some NDC party faithful point out that the Eastern Region has a multi-ethnic mix and only 50% of the region are “Akans” who traditionally vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Others argue that since the current President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who hails from the Eastern Region, will no longer be on the ballot paper, it will be strategic for the NDC to choose a running mate from the Eastern Region.
In the case of Ashanti Region, elements in the NDC believe that it is time to take the fight for power to the stronghold of the NPP by choosing a candidate from the region.
They argue further that if the NPP does not choose either their presidential candidate or running mate from the Ashanti Region, the NDC can put up a strong showing in the region should they choose their running mate from there.
