A video comments by a member of the Campaign team
That just like in traditional settings whenever there’s vacancy of a stool the rightful persons competent and the kingmakers decided who to lead.
According to him,the dynamics of Asawase indicates that they(NPP) can’t continue to do the same things and expect different results or victory.
Baron Atuguba who describes himself as the Campaign Manager for Hon Yussif Osman said the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase,Hon.Muntaka Mubarak is a formidable Candidate and NPP can’t go to a contest with him with a divided front hence they need Yussif Osman who is a unifier to lead them.
He said during 2016 general elections,NPP managed to close the gap between Hon.Muntaka to about 5,000 votes difference but due to imposition of Parliamentary candidate on the constituency it resulted in voter apathy on the party of NPP members leading to Hon.Muntaka,NDC Candidate maximizing votes .
He said the gap between NDC and NPP increased to about 20,000 voted difference.
Mr.Baron Atuguba who is also Kasana Nakanna Youth Leader said it’s only Yussif Osman who can appeals to the floating voters to enable NPP snatch the seat from NDC .
Adding that he( Yussif Osman) is neutral among the various factions in the constituency and therefore stands better position to win the seat for NPP.

ALARM BLOWS…As WASS headmistress interdicted for allegedly collecting illegal fees
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted Dr Mrs Shine Agatha Ofori, headmistress of the West Africa Senior High School (WASS), for the unauthorised collection of money from students.
This was contained in a press release signed and issued by the Head of the Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo in Accra on Thursday, July 20, 2023.
She is to hand over the administration of the school to the Regional Director of Education pending the final determination of the case by the Regional Disciplinary Committee.
“Management of GES has interdicted Dr. Mrs. Shine Agatha Ofori, Headmistress of West Africa SHS, for unauthorised collection of money from students. She is to hand over the administration of the school to the Regional Director of Education pending final determination of the case by the Regional Disciplinary Committee,” GES added in the press release.
This is not the first GES has taken such action against the heads of second-cycle institutions in the country.
GES earlier in 2023 interdicted the headmaster of Fijai Senior High School in Sekondi, Mr. Kenneth Agbomadzi, for allegedly charging illegal fees.
He was however reinstated in May 2023 after a committee tasked to probe the issue cleared him of any wrongdoing.
A statement signed by the Director of Education, Western Region, Mrs. Felicia Agyeibea Okai, on May 8, said, “I have been directed by the Director-General to re-instate you effective May 8, 2023, based on the outcome of the Investigative Committee’s report on the alleged Collection of illegal Levies in the school. The Regional Director is to hand over the Administration of the School to you and accord you the necessary support for you to function effectively”.
The GES in its statement cautioned that it frowns on unauthorised collection of levies.
“GES Management directs that the Head, Teachers and Parents of the school should be made to understand that Ghana Education Service (GES) frowns on unauthorised collection of levies and takes every act of illegal collection of monies seriously,” GES warned in its statement.Source:Citinewsroom.com
Ahafo Reg. Minister Commissions Goaso Integrated Recycling and Composting Plant
The Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. George Boakye has commissioned the Goaso Integrated Recycling and Composting Plant in Ahafo.
Located at Akrodie in the Asunafo North in the Ahafo region, the Plant is an integrated waste processing and recycling facility established to receive and process solid waste and produce organic manure for agronomic purposes in the region and plastic pellets as raw material for industries.
Commissioning the Plant, the Regional Minister noted that the establishment of the project is part of the government’s agenda to reduce unemployment in the region and the country as a whole.
“It will help to solve our unemployment problem by employing close to 800 youth as well as supply our farmers with high-grade compost while protecting and keeping the environment clean,” he stressed.
He reiterated that the government remains steadfast to collaborate with the private sector to propel the economy, and one of such is the partnership with the Jospong Group of Companies to manage and recycle waste across the country.
He noted that in the past, managing waste generated in the region has been a challenge leading to unsanitary conditions, but the establishment of the facility will efficiently address all that.
“Before the establishment of the facility, waste was just dumped at the landfill which posed a lot of health and environmental risk to the people of the community,” he narrated.
Hon. Boakye observed that the 1.4% annual population growth rate of the region impacts negatively on waste generation and its management, hence the need to find a lasting and environmentally friendly solution to the challenge.
“The volume of waste generated demanded that we look for more environmentally friendly means of managing our waste,” he added.
President and Omanhene of the Kukuom Traditional Council, Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi II, commended the Jospong Group and the government in ensuring that the project comes to life adding that the project will facilitate economic growth of the region.
Hon.George Yaw Boakye,Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi II in a group picture with other officials
“This project will spur development in the region,” he noted.
He was pleased that the facility, apart from keeping the environment clean, will also provide jobs for the teeming youth.
The President of the Slovenia- Ghana Business Club, Gilbert Yelewere Meznar, on his part, noted that the project was financed by the Slovenia Eximbank. Adding that the EximBank also supported the Sefwi and Dambai Integrated.
He stressed that Slovenia has a slot to offer.
“We have the technology and innovation to transfer,” he stated.
He pledged that Club will endeavour to facilitate more partnerships, especially with green projects that meet global goals.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Jospong Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, the Group Manager for Treasury and Investment, Mr. Lawrence Agbin noted that finding solutions to waste challenges demands collaborative efforts from all stakeholders.
He emphasized that with the establishment of the facility, no longer will waste be collected n discarded haphazardly in the region.
He, therefore, urged the citizens to segregate their waste.
He mentioned that the facility, which is in line with the SGD goals and can be used as a research centre, will minimize environmental impact by improving the air quality in the region.
The plant, which is one of the 16 plants being constructed across the country, has the capacity to create 300 direct jobs and about 500 indirect jobs.
The facility has the capacity to process 400 tonnes of solid waste a day.
The plant’s core function revolves around composting, enabling it to convert over 60% of the daily waste into high-quality compost for organic farming.
The state-of-the-art compost and recycling plants is part of Zoomlion Ghana Limited’s Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant (IRECOP), a waste processing and recycling facility established by the Jospong Group of Companies to receive, sort, process and recycle waste.

Yendi MP Declares:Bawumia Will Win Hands Down, Attacks On Him Will Amount To Nothing
The Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency, Farouk Aliu Mahama says the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is on course to win the impending presidential primary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The Vice President faces stiff opposition from nine other aspirants, five of whom will be dropped to pave the way for a special delegates conference that will elect the presidential candidate for the 2024 election.
Dr Bawumia’s contenders include former Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen and Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyepong among others. The party has scheduled a special delegates conference on August 26 to whittle the number down to five.
But, Yendi MP Farouk Aliu Mahama believes Dr Bawumia stands tall among his contenders and the delegates will vote for him.
Dr.Bawumia and Farouk Aliu Mahama
“I did the album in my constituency and I control 700 people in the constituency. My other contestants control 50 each and they are all for Bawumia. So tell me, who are they going to vote for? It’s a done deal for Bawumia,” he stressed.
Farouk Aliu Mahama also fought off claims that MPs have abandoned parliament to campaign for the Vice President. He described the assertions as inaccurate.
For some days now, Parliament has struggled to form a quorum to do business with the Minority claiming that NPP MPs are following the Vice President around.
According to Farouk Aliu Mahama, the NPP MPs respect their duties in Parliament and have never left the House to follow the Vice President on his campaign tours.
“The MPs from the Ashanti Region who were with Dr Bawumia are back in Parliament and the quorum issues in Parliament have nothing to do with the MPs following Bawumia.
I am a strong supporter of the Vice President, but I’m here to do my duties. The NDC’s strategy of trying to tie everything to Dr Bawumia is a signal that he is a threat to John Mahama.”
Meanwhile, the National Council of the New Patriotic Party is expected to deliberate and decide on the recommendations of the vetting committee on the flagbearer aspirants on Thursday.
It follows the adoption of the committee’s report by the National Steering Committee of the party at its meeting in Accra last Tuesday.

GETFund has NOT used its receivables to borrow $1.5 billion-Dr.Ampofo Boadu clears Air
The Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Dr. Richard Ampofo Boadu has refuted claims being bandied about that GETFund has collateralized its receivables to borrow to the tune of one billion, five hundred million dollars ($1.5 billion).
‘’Such narrative is a complete twist of facts surrounding this particular subject matter, I guess it is for diabolical purposes’’, the Administrator stated.
Dr.Richard Ampofo Boadu
He explained that sometime in 2019, Parliament approved an amount of $1.5 billion in the cedi equivalent, for GETFund to borrow on the capital market to enable the Fund finance emergency projects particularly, in the second cycle institutions, as enrollments had surged due to Free SHS.
He further stated that the Trust Board therefore undertook a combination of loan syndications from some selected banks and bond issuance on the capital market and raised a total of GHC 3.42 billion as of December 2022.
He added that, these loans have been used judiciously across the various levels of education as evident in emergency intervention projects in Second cycle schools, model STEM schools, provision of vehicles to schools and colleges and TVET centres of excellence dotted across the country.
‘’It is therefore highly inaccurate for anyone to spread the information that GETFund proceeds have been collateralized to the tune of 1.5 billion dollars’’, Dr. Boadu pointed out.

Dr. Bawumia Inaugurates Headquarters For Ashanti North Region Police Command
The Vice Ptesident, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has commissioned the headquarters building and other facilities for the newly created Ashanti North Regional Police Command at Mampong in the Ashanti Region.
One of seven new Regional Police Commands created in 2023, the Ashanti North Command is made up four combined Divisional Commands – Mampong, Effiduase, Offinso and Tepa – with its headquarters at Mampong.
The headquarters was commissioned on Tuesday, 18th July, 2023 at a ceremony attended by senior Police officials including the Director General – Administration, Commisioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno and the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) DCOP Faustina Agyeiwaa Kodua Andoh-Kwofie.
The Vice President, who is also Chairman of the Police Council, explained that Ghana’s increasing population, as well as the increasingly sophisticated nature of crime and policing had necessitated the creation of additional police commands in order to fulfil the Service’s mandate.
“The peace and development of any country depends on its security, and the first line of security is the Police. It is therefore important that Police Service is properly deployed and equipped to perform their duties and ensure the peace we need to develop our nation,” he emphasized.
In a remarkable show of patriotism a citizen of Mampong, Mr Yaw Amponsah Marfo popularly known as Agya Wiase constructed and donated the Regional Police Headquarters buildings to the Ghana Police. He has also donated a pick up vehicle and two motorbikes to the police, and promised to put up an office for the Ghana Immigration Service at Mampong in the shortest possible time
Dr Bawumia in a chat with Daasebre Osei Bonsu
Dr Bawumia had high praise for Mr Marfo, for whom the new Offices have been named (Agya Wiase Police Station), saying his philanthropy was very worthy of emulation.
“Your actions and donations demonstrate the important role of the private sector in supporting government to provide essential logistics for nation building. You have shown admirable philanthropy to the people of Mampong and Ghana. I urge the private sector to emulate your worthy example.”
The Omanhene of Mampong, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, lauded the Police for continuing to deliver on their mandate despite changing dynamics and logistical constraints, and challenged the officers and men of the new Command to live above reproach.
New Regions
The Police Administration, in March 2023, created seven additional police regional commands to ensure effective and efficient policing throughout the country.
The new regions are in the Ashanti and the Eastern regions, which have two each, and the Western, Central and Volta regions, each of which has an additional Regional Police Command.
Dr.Gideon Boako writes:Allegations of Islamic Funding for Bawumia’s Campaign is False
The attention of the Bawumia Campaign Team has been drawn to a post by one David Humdeyin, a journalist in Nigeria, that the Bawumia Campaign is being funded by some Islamic group in Nigeria called the ACF.
We notice that the same narrative has been copied by some persons and groups in Ghana on social media.
This narrative is obviously false, fabricated, and only serves the propaganda purposes of its promoters.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Bawumia Campaign has no funding or any linkage with any Islamic group in Nigeria or anywhere else.
Dr.Bawumia
We also note that the said David Humdeyin has demonstrated a penchant for making similar claims against some persons and groups in Nigeria without any basis whatsoever
The Bawumia Campaign is focused and will not be distracted by such vain untruths.
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been very diligent and transparent from his days as a scholar, banker, and politician throughout his life and will not depart from these now and forever.
