MTN GHANA SUPPORTS KATINGULI RC & BAALE LA PRIMARY SCHOOLS WITH UNIFORMS.
Students of Katinguli RC and Baale LA primary schools in the Yendi Municipality in the Northern Region of Ghana have expressed their happiness after MTN GH supported the schools with school uniforms.
These donations were done as part of “MTN GH 21 days of Yellow Care.”
Every year in June, from the 1st to 21st of June, MTNers across our footprint come together, not just as employees of a telecommunications company, but as agents of change, men and women who believe in giving back, in building up and in reaching out through volunteerism to serve our communities.

This year, MTNers began another chapter in their 21 Days of Y’ello Care story with the theme “Connecting at the Root, Connecting Communities Through the Use of Digital Tools”.
This year’s theme serves as a bold reminder that true connection goes beyond signals and screens. It’s about ensuring that every Ghanaian, no matter their location or background, is part of the digital future.
Mr. Mohammed Bawa Ziblim, the headteacher on behalf of the Katinguli RC primary school, thanked MTN GH for channeling some of their resources towards the development of the students and therefore appealed to the MTN GH to support the school with classrooms as the students are learning under trees.

” We’re passionately appealing to the MTN GH to come to our aid by supporting us with school structure m, at least, a six (6) units classroom block that can house both lower and upper primary students so that teaching and learning will be very effective”.
Mr. Uboi Baabe, a resident on behalf of the Katinguli and Baale communities, thanked MTN GH for the support and also appealed to MTN to support the communities with classrooms block
At Baale, the headteacher, Mr. Dauda Shani also thanked MTN GH for the donations and requested classrooms to eliminate the Baale L.A. school, which is under a made-shift temporary structure.
Clear the backlog & automatically post health trainees- Kwabena Frimpong urges Prez Mahama to fulfill campaign promise
Mr. Kwabena Frimpong, Deputy Protocol Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a clarion call to President John Dramani Mahama to fulfill his campaign pledge of ensuring the automatic posting of trained health professionals across the country. He made this appeal during his keynote address at the 2025 FG-MELSA Handing Over Retreat held at the Ministry of Health Conference Room.
The handing over, which brought together outgoing and incoming leaders of FG-MELSA, was held under the theme: “Transitioning with Purpose: Building on Success, Empowering New Leadership for Excellence & Ensuring Continuity & Progress.”
Kwabena Frimpong and President John Mahama
The event focused on grooming the next generation of student health professionals for impactful leadership and seamless transition.
In his speech, Mr. Frimpong emphasized the critical role of continuity and purposeful leadership in driving national progress. “Leadership is not just about occupying positions; it is about service. It is about vision, discipline, empathy, and resilience,” he stated. Drawing on his own experience as a former student leader now serving in national politics, he encouraged young professionals to remain focused, committed, and value-driven.

Touching on pressing issues in the health sector, Mr. Frimpong appealed directly to President Mahama, urging him to deliver on his campaign promise to ensure automatic postings for trained nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, and other healthcare workers.
“This commitment is not merely a political obligation but a necessary step toward restoring trust, hope, and opportunity within the health sector,” Mr. Frimpong said.
He expressed concern over the large backlog of trained health professionals who remain unemployed despite their readiness and qualification to serve our motherland
Referencing precedent, Mr. Frimpong highlighted the achievements of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, under whose leadership backlog of nurses and health workers trained between 2012 and 2016 under Prez John Mahama’s first coming who were not posted were successfully posted. He challenged President Mahama to emulate that effort to address unemployment and enhance healthcare delivery.
“By prioritizing the posting of these skilled graduates, he will not only reduce the growing rate of unemployment but also unlock the vast potential of professionals eager to contribute meaningfully to national development,” he stressed.
Mr. Frimpong concluded by expressing his appreciation to FG-MELSA for the invitation and extended his best wishes to the new leadership. “God bless FG-MELSA. God bless our youth. And God bless Ghana,” he affirmed.
The event was marked by a spirit of unity, reflection, and renewed purpose as participants pledged to advance the cause of student leadership and health sector transformation in Ghana.
Early testing saves lives – Mrs. Lordina Mahama urges Ghanaians
First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, on Friday, addressed beneficiaries at a comprehensive free public health screening event, emphasising the vital importance of early testing and proactive health management, especially for vulnerable populations within the community.
The event, a collaboration between the Office of the First Lady and the Ghana AIDS Commission, provided essential health services to various community members, including hairdressers, tailors, head-porters (kayayee), and market women.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Mahama underscored the purpose of the outreach. “We are here for a very important reason. For the health of our people, especially young people, women, and vulnerable groups in our communities,” she stated. “We aim to raise awareness, offer free check-ups, provide medical advice and counselling, and help more people take care of their health.”
The First Lady said many people may be living with serious health conditions without realising it, making such screening exercises essential.
“Sometimes, people are living with these conditions and do not even know it. That is why today’s health screening is very important,” she explained. “It provides an opportunity to get tested free of charge, know about their health, and take the necessary steps to maintain their health.”
She stressed the life-saving potential of early detection. “Early testing saves lives. Knowing your health status early enables you to start treatment early and prevent serious complications. Testing early can also help us to protect our loved ones.”
“For example, when people living with HIV get to know their status early, they can receive the right care and support, which will make them live long and healthy lives. But this can only happen if you get tested.”
The free health services provided at the event included HIV and syphilis screening, BMI and nutrition counselling, blood pressure checks and assessments for other medical conditions, and breast cancer screening.
Beneficiaries received awareness training on HIV/AIDS preventive measures and the importance of early antenatal care to prevent mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy.
Directing her message towards the younger generation present, the First Lady called for greater health consciousness. “I want to address the young people here directly. You are the future of this country. Your energy, your dreams and your well-being matter,” she said.
“However, many young people today are falling ill, sometimes due to a lack of access to the right information, services, or support they need. That must change. And it starts with talking openly to people who can help you, and by having a medical check at least once a year.”
She encouraged attendees to take full advantage of the services offered free of charge. “Today, you can check your HIV status, your blood pressure and sugar levels, and even be screened for breast cancer, right here at this event, all for free… I therefore encourage you all to take advantage of these services. Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind. We are here for you.”
Mrs Mahama also highlighted broader government efforts aimed at improving access to and outcomes in healthcare. She mentioned the recently launched Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also known as MahamaCares.
“When this fund is fully operational, it will bring relief to many people suffering from non-communicable diseases,” she noted, adding that it will help diagnose and treat conditions like heart illnesses, kidney disease, and various cancers.
She also referenced the upcoming Free Primary Healthcare Programme, which she said will “enhance awareness of the health status of our citizens and contribute to disease prevention.”
“Together, we can create a Ghana where every person knows their health status. Where every pregnant woman gets the care she needs, and where every child is born healthy and free from infection,” she stated.

He said for Gyinyasehemaa to come to church to offer thanks to God is a clear manifestation that the old system of kingship, in which chiefs and queens were confined to palaces alone, is no more in existence, but rather Christianity has improved modern-day kingship.
Apostle Braimah prayed for Gyinyasehemaa and her elders in order to have a successful tenure to the glory of God.
He appealed to her to focus more on the transformation of the youth in her community since they are the future leaders.
He said in every community, there are some recalcitrant and wayward youths who find themselves in drug addiction and other social vices that threaten the peace and development of Ghana; hence, she should include it in her plans to organise community durbars to talk to the youth about the dangers associated with these vices.
Apostle Braimah believes that when this is done, the youth will be transformed, and it will go a long way to produce quality and vibrant future leaders.
He assured Gyinyasehemaa and her elders of his full support from the church, be it spiritual or physical.
He highlighted Jeremiah 29:7 and shared the Scripture with Gyinyasehemaa, her elders and his congregation.

Kwaku Amoh-Darteh, Esq. Paints Powerful Picture of Ken Agyapong’s Humble Rise in Viral Post*
In a compelling social media post that has sparked widespread conversation, Kwaku Amoh-Darteh, Esq., Head of Campaign Communications for Hon. Ken Agyapong, delivered a moving tribute to the presidential hopeful’s entrepreneurial journey, from hawking on the streets of Accra to building a business empire.
Titled “The Entrepreneur They Never Saw Coming…”, the post vividly recounts Ken Agyapong’s early days selling in traffic with grit and purpose, long before titles or fame. It highlights the life lessons he learned in the chaos of Accra’s streets, discipline, branding, timing, persuasion, lessons no classroom could teach.
“He was mastering entrepreneurship in its rawest form, without capital, without connections, only grit,” Amoh-Darteh wrote. “What began with a tray would one day become an empire.”
The post has resonated deeply across digital platforms, especially among Ghana’s youth and entrepreneurial communities, who see in Ken Agyapong a leader who understands struggle and hustle, not just policy.
The message underscores the campaign’s broader narrative: that Ken Agyapong is not just a politician, but a product of hard work and self-made success, a candidate who truly understands what it means to rise from nothing.
As the Ken2028 campaign gains momentum, this message is setting a strong emotional tone that positions Agyapong as “the doer Ghana needs.”
