aYo Ghana Launches Family Cover in Kumasi

 

 

aYo Intermediaries Ghana, a leading micro-insurance company,has officially launched its new product dubbed “aYo Family Cover” in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.

 

aYo, introduced Recharge  with Care  with a short code *296& and Send with Care with a short code *170# which one can just dial to subscribe to the products. So far 8.2million Ghanaians have subscribed to the products and Ghc 14million claims paid to 40,000 policyholders.

 

Speaking at the colorful and well attended launching ceremony at New Kejetia Market in Kumasi on Tuesday,11th July,2023,Mr.Francis Gota, explained that aYo Family cover which is available on *296#, was in quick response to feedback from customers who wanted a higher sum assured at an affordable rate.

He said aYo Recharge with care and aYo Send with Care offers “you (subscriber) an easy way to cover you and your loved ones against the costs associated with hospitalization and funerals but the uniqueness with the new product” aYo Family cover”  is that it provides up to Fifteen Thousand (Ghc15,000) life cover each for a group of seven(7) family members who sign on the policy.

According to aYo Ghana CEO,the product also provides Three hundred Ghana cedis (Ghc300) per night hospitalization cover for each of the seven persons on the policy. Adding that when a full year passes and no claim in made under the package the main policy holder is allowed to bring on six other persons, all of whom will pay only Ghc15 a month as premium and qualify for the sum assured both for the life and hospitalization.

Mr.Gota revealed that this is the first time in Ghana any Insurance company was offering cover of up to Fifteen thousand (GHc15,000) plus additional money for hospitalization for as low as Fifteen Ghana cedis (GHc15.00).He has therefore encouraged all MTN network users and all Ghanaians who are not yet to join the network to do so to enable them subscribe and take advantage of the aYo Family Cover and other products.

 

Mrs.Marriam Appiah -Benjamin,Head of Sales& Distribution of aYo Ghana,said the new policy is opened for children from One year up to 69 years old adults.

Touching on the initial two products, she said MTN network users have the opportunity to use their airtime to pay premiums of Six Ghana cedis (GHc6) a month and benefit from Six thousand (GHc6,000) life cover plus GHc120 per night hospitalization cover for the policyholder or subscriber and one other dependent, while Send with Care allows MTN mobile money(MoMo) customers on the scheme to pay 5% of every amount they send and stand to benefit up to Thirty Thousand (GHc30,000) life cover.

According to Mrs.Marriam Appiah-Benjamin, Recharge with Care annual Cover means customers will pay a lump sum of Ghc130 per year and benefit from the Recharge with Care package, plus 10% cash back if no claims are made in a particular year. She advised all traders to embrace the policy and encourage their loved ones or family members to also subscribe to the products aYo.

On his part,Nana Prempeh,Kumasi Petty Traders Association chairman endorsed the “aYo Family Cover’ and encouraged all traders to subscribe to it.He described the policy as one of the lowest insurance premium rate with easy accessible to all.

Saying that “,aYo family cover is good for me and good for you”. Nana Prempeh also seized the opportunity to appeal to MTN officials led by Mr.Simon Amo,who graced the launching ceremony to work on network connectivity at New Kejetia market popularly known as Kejeta Dubai for them.
