Benjamin Ayiku Nartey collaborates with Ledzokuku Assembly to spice up inter-schools’ games

 

The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Constituency, Hon. Benjamin Ayiku Nartey, in collaboration with the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, has supported the just-ended inter-schools’ games competition.
The move was to promote education, training, and sports among the youth in the Ledzokuku Municipality.
All four circuits in the area, namely Ledzokuku North, South, Central, and West, received support in the form of undisclosed sums of cash.

Categories of games
During the just-ended games, each circuit competed in under-13 soccer boys and netball girls. There were also competitions in under-15 soccer (boys and girls), volleyball (boys and girls), handball (boys and girls), and netball (girls).

On 5th November 2025, a team from each of the four circuits will compete at the Macdan Astro Turf at Tsuibleo, where the winners will represent the Municipality at the Zone Six Zonal competition slated for 7th November 2025.

The Municipal Assembly, apart from the undisclosed sums of cash paid to the circuits during the inter-circuit’s games, have rented the Macdan Astro turf, will also be providing each circuit with jerseys for the competition, and provide them with water, among other things.

Talent identification and development
In an address read for him, during the presentation of the cash to the circuits, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, stated that the Assembly will next year provide more support during such events.

This, according to him, would help in the identification and the development of the various skills in the youth, which, when enhanced, can bring many benefits to the individual, communities, and the nation.

He appealed to the youth to avoid acts that could mar the development of their future dreams by desisting from social vices.
