The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been urged to act immediately by calling the Bono Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Kwame Baffoe, who is popularly known as Abronye DC, to order before he destroys the party’s efforts to win back power in 2028.
Mr. Ntim Twumasi Kwaku (NTK), a former Ejisu Constituency Second-Vice Chairman of the NPP, who made the call, explained that there is an urgent need to call Abronye DC and those who behave like him in the NPP to order, by warning them to desist from using unprintable words on Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a former NPP presidential aspirant.

According to him, nothing should be allowed to distract the focus of the party in bringing everyone together to win the trust of Ghanaians in the 2028 general election. He added that the leadership of the party should not sit down unconcerned to allow a whole regional chairman to go on national television to launch such verbal attacks on a fellow member.
The comments by NTK, who is also a member of the Ashanti Regional communications team of the NPP, follows fresh verbal attacks on Mr. Agyapong by Abronye DC on Wontumi TV after their clash during NPP “Thank you tour” in the Bono Region.

The Bono NPP regional chairman used some unprintable words to describe Mr. Agyapong and also threatened to launch “Ahiafoɔ” (poor people) group across all the 276 constituencies and campaigned against Kennedy Agyapong’s flagbearership ambition, especially in 88 constituencies where NPP has sitting Members of Parliament.

In an interview with “The New Trust” newspaper on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, NTK said the actions by the Bono regional chairman should not be tolerated, especially at a time the party members are seriously reflecting on the causes of the party’s humiliating defeat in 2024 and how to resolve the mistakes in order not to repeat them in future elections.
Therefore, NTK, who is also the CEO of NTK Ventures, is calling on all party members to desist from verbal attacks and blame game.
He said Abronye’s description of Mr Agyapong, who has contributed a lot to the party, as if he is the devil himself, is unfortunate.
Abronye DC should be advised to stick to the “Thank you tour” whenever he gets platforms instead of using it for a different purpose.
“I also want to use this opportunity to appeal to the campaign of Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong not to react to the comments by Abronye DC and those who behave like him. Mr Agyapong should rather stay focused and continue to contribute his quota to the party…Everyone is needed on board because politics is about numbers,” he said.
Besides, he advised the national leadership of the NPP to stay focused without using the “Thank you tour” to project some potential presidential candidates.
