Chief Julius Debrah is favourite to lead NDC in 2028 general election – NDC communicator says

By: Isaac Amoah

Mr. Julius Debrah, the current Chief of Staff, has been tipped by many National Democratic Congress (NDC) members to succeed President John Dramani Mahama in the 2028 general election.

Even though several names have so far popped up to succeed President Mahama, who is serving his second term, Mr Debrah’s name is gaining massive support from the grassroots.

One of the advocates for Mr. Debrah to contest the NDC flagbearer contest when the time is due is Mr. Abambila John, a member of the Ashanti Regional communications team of the ruling NDC. He has maintained that the 2028 polls will be a “cool chop” for the NDC if Mr. Debrah decides to contest and he is given the nod.

He shared his thoughts on “Grace TV”, “Days TV” and “Garden City Radio” when he was asked to explain his earlier suggestion published by “The New Trust” newspaper few weeks ago.

Abambila John said, “Chief Julius Debrah is the rightful person to lead the NDC in the next general election (2028). His exemplary leadership as former & current Chief of Staff has earned him a strong reputation. With his impressive track record and high regard for humanity, he has effectively positioned himself as a potential NDC presidential candidate. Given his commitment to Ghana’s progress, we are likely to rally behind him in support of his presidential aspirations.”

He commended Mr. Debrah for his continuous demonstration of good leadership and humility in the Mahama administration.

“Mr. Julius Debrah has been humble ever since he became a Member of Parliament (MP), minister and currently Ghana’s Chief of Staff…Mr. Debrah continues to showcase his humility and respect for all. This is a kind of leader we all need to emulate. If he decides to contest, it’ll be a good idea,” he added.

The NDC communicator continued, “I know that this is not the time for the race but when Mr. Debrah, after President John Mahama, declares to contest as NDC flagbearer, we’ll all help him to win and become the next president.”
