CSUC HOLDS 2 DAYS NATIONAL HEALTH CONFERENCE

 

 

The Christian Service University College (CSUC ),a fast growing private university in Ghana established in 1974 has organized its maiden national health conference .


The two days conference was under the theme “ADDRESSING THE INCREASING HEALTH CHALLENGES IN GHANA EXPLORING DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES “.

The conference which was chaired by Prof.Ellis Owusu Dabo,Pro Vice-Chancellor,Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) had Dr.Patrick Kuma-Aboagye,the Director General of Ghana Health Service as the main speaker.

In his presentation,Dr.Patrick Kuma-Aboagye,the Director General of Ghana Health Service(GHS), disclosed that about 41 percent of Ghanaians are suffering from mental disorders.

According to him,cases of mental disorders are getting alarming in the hospitals which needs urgent attention by all.
Dr.Kuma-Aboagye explained that at least One out of every Ten Ghanaians,has some forms of mental health issues.

 

Touching on how to address the health challenges in the country despite the numerous successes chalked, the Director General of GHS said they have adopted five(5) strategic plan thus;boosting health capacity, improve care management, leveraging on ICT solutions to bridge gap of access to health among others.

He revealed that plans were far advanced for them to set up GHS models health Centers to ensure all people get access to quality health delivery 24hrs 7 without any hindrance.

Dr.Patrick Kuma-Aboagye revealed that installation of survillence by GHS has boosted in their capacity to early detection of outbreak of diseases.
