New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful and former Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has pledged to introduce a party-based health insurance scheme, dubbed the Patriotic Health Insurance, for elderly party members if elected flagbearer of the party.
Addressing party delegates and supporters during his campaign tour of the Ashaiman Constituency on Monday, January 26, Dr Adutwum said the initiative is intended to provide healthcare support for elderly members and long-serving delegates, while also strengthening the party’s appeal to the younger generation.

“I have a special vision for all of you. I know many of you have followed the party for a very long time. The reason I am deeply interested in doing something for our elderly party members is that if no action is taken, the youth in the party will leave.
“If we do not take care of you, the strength of the party will decline. If you vote for me, all elderly members will benefit from the party’s Patriotic Health Insurance scheme,” he vowed.By:Elizabeth Kabukie Ocansey
