“Go for IMF bailout , as an urgent option”-Addai-Nimoh advises President

 

 

The President of Republic of Ghana,Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has been advised to go for financial bailout under the prevailing conditions so as to lessen the economic hardship Ghanaians are going through.
Hon.Francis Addai-Nimoh,one of the 2014 NPP flagbeater contestants who doubles as former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Mampong constituency gave the advised in an interview with Ashh 101.1 fm, local based radio station in Kumasi.

He admitted that there is hardship in the country and the major challenged the country faced is huge debt.According to him,the government was struggling to meet it financial obligations to contractors,payment for providers of social interventions like School feeding caterers among others are in arrears .

” I support the calls by Ghanaians that the government should consider going for IMF bailout.”I support the calls for government to go for bailout under the current condition.We should understand that when we go for bailout as country we will not lose our suvenerity

.If we should fold our arms how long can we mobilize funds to pay out these huge debts? He said just like in family,if your a father and over burden with debt but you still have to feed the family what do you do,you need to go for bailout to save the family. On the calls for the President to consider reshuffling his appointees,Hon.Addai Nimoh who has declared his intentions to contest NPP flagbearerhip race for 2024 said it was long overdue for Nana Addo to embark on reshuffle.

He explained that reshuffle doesn’t necessarily means1 the appointees especially Ministers should be removed from office but to different sectors so as to bring refresh ideas and energy fo a effective delivery.

He said for instance, under the forth republic it is only under Nana Addo’s government that Finance Minister, Hon.Ken Ofori Atta has been in office for more than four years without reshuffle.
