Dansoman:Emmanuel Presby Preparatory School retains Peugar quiz competition
The Emmanuel Presbyterian Preparatory School at Dansoman, for the second-year running, has emerged winner of this year’s Peugar quiz competition in the Greater Accra region.
The Dansoman lads led the four-round contests from round one to the last, garnering 133 points to beat six other contesting schools.
For emerging winners, the two male contestants received a tablet each, medals, certificates of participation, a Presby school uniform, a mathematical set, a story book, a maths textbook, Presby-branded exercise books, school backpacks and other giveaways from the sponsors.

Their schools, on the other hand, took a plaque, a trophy, a projector and a certificate of participation.
Dodowa Presby “B” Basic School placed second after scoring 109 points, followed by Michael Morninger Presby Basic, which had garnered 93 points to place third in the keenly contested competition.

The two contestants also received school backpacks, Presby School uniform, Presby exercise books, student companion, medals, a mathematical set each, certificates of participation, story books and maths textbook, while their school also got drawing equipment (board), certificates of participation and a plaque.

Martey Tsuru Presby on their part scored 59 points to place fourth, followed by Faith Presby Basic from Shiashi, which scored 54 points, while Old Ningo Presby Basic “B” scored 51 points to place 6th, with Sabrep Presby Basic “B” managed to pick 46 points to place 7th position.
The prizes for the 4th to the 7th positions students and their schools were a Presby school uniform, a maths set, a story book, a maths textbook, a certificate of participation, and Presby exercise books, while their individual schools received certificates of participation and drawing board equipment.
The Greater Accra Regional Manager of Presbyterian Schools, Mr Eugene Laryea, said the competition, the brainchild of the Presby church, was aimed at motivating the students to learn how to compete in school as they move on in their education.
Again, the competition would help them build their confidence level as they compete in such events to enable them to develop their skills in school and beyond.
Mrs Theresa Tetteh, the Municipal Director of Education for Ledzokuku, congratulated all the contestants for exhibiting their skills and urged them to continue studying hard towards the attainment of their life dreams.
She also eulogised the organisers and the sponsors for their support towards such an important event, which would go a long way to promote the development of education in the area and the rest of the country.
