Hon. Hilda Addo, a former Member of Parliament for Kwadaso who doubles as a former Member of Pan African Parliament and a Leading Member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has noted that the Vice President Dr. Bawumia was not a true NPP member.
According to her, Dr. Bawumia became a card bearing member after becoming the running mate to Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo in 2008.
She made these comments on the Silver Omanbapa Morning Show hosted by Lovin’C, the Ace Broadcast Journalist on Thursday,8th December,2022.
In her statements, she revealed that it is not as if Dr. Bawumia has not served the party but comparing him to other party members contesting the flagbearership position in the NPP, he is the least to have served the party.
The race for the flagbearership in the party has many candidates but the fierce is between the Vice President and the Trade and Industries Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten.
Hon. Hilda Addo comparing both candidates noted clearly that, Alan Kyeremanten the Trade Minister has been an NPP party member since day one.

He is one of the founding fathers of the party during the time when Ghana was just a one party state.
But Dr. Bawumia only became a card bearing NPP member only after he became the running mate of the then candidate Akufo Addo of the NPP against many objections from the inner circle of the elephant family.
