Ghana’s Para Athletics team bags 4 medals at Dubai 2026 World Para Athletics Grand Prix.

 

Supt Emmanuel Sowah, Para Athletics Coach of Ghana, has done it again by leading his team to bag 4 medals at the just-ended 2026 World Para Athletics Grand Prix held in Dubai at the Club for People of Determination Stadium.

Speaking to “The New Trust” newspaper on Monday, 16th February, 2026, after the team returned home, the coach revealed that Zinabu Issah is ranked in discus in 3rd position in World Para Athletics.

“Team Ghana bags 4 medals home: 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze.”

Supt Emmanuel Sowah recounted that “I left Ghana for Dubai with Addai Hayford, a student of Konongo Odumasi SHS, who is a physically challenged athlete and left ahead of time and has to be classified before he can compete in the Dubai 2026 World Para Athletics Grand Prix.It was the 17th international Para Athletics Championships.

 

He went through the process and was classified in the category of T47. “T” means Track.1. Zinabu Issah F572. Botsyo Nkegbe T54.According to him, Zinabu Issah, who’s an F57 field event athlete, joined Team Ghana in Dubai later.

Coach Sowah disclosed that Zinabu Issah won a silver medal in Discus with a distance of 29.20 m and Silver Medal in Shot Put with a distance of 8.47 m While Addai Hayford T47 emerged 3rd position in 400m, 52.42 sec., bronze; 1st position in 100m, 11.09 sec., gold; and Botsyo Nkegbe T54 recorded the following: 5th. 100 m. 16.35 sec., 8th. 400 m. 54.25 sec., as well as 5th. 1500 m. 3:36.37 sec.
