The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Elections Committee is pleased to announce that proxy voting is now officially open for the upcoming National and Regional Executive Elections scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025.
This arrangement, in accordance with the GJA Constitution and Election Guidelines, aims to ensure that no eligible member is disenfranchised due to travel, health challenges, or other legitimate constraints that may prevent in-person voting.
GUIDELINES FOR PROXY VOTING
Who Can Apply?
Any paid-up member of the GJA in good standing who is unable to vote in person on Election Day may apply to vote by proxy.
How to Apply:
Submit a Written Request
Address your request to the Chairman, GJA Elections Committee, stating clearly your intention to vote by proxy.
Deadline: By close of day on Monday, June 23, 2025 (seven days before the election).
Nominate Your Proxy
Your proxy must also be a paid-up GJA member in good standing. Provide the following details in your application:
Full name of your proxy
Residential address
Ghana Card number
Contact telephone number
Complete the Proxy Form in Triplicate
Original – Submitted to the GJA Elections Committee
Duplicate – Given to your proxy to present on polling day
Triplicate – Retained by you, the applicant
Restrictions:
No individual may act as a proxy for more than one (1) member.
Where to Submit:
Email your written application and relevant details to the Elections Committee at election.gja@gmail.com.
A secure link will be provided for you to access and complete the proxy form.
IMPORTANT REMINDER
All proxy applications must be received by close of day on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Late applications will not be accepted.
