GJA mourns Mike Eghan, Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng

 

ACCRA, June 23, 2025 (GJA) – The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) is deeply saddened by the passing of Mike Eghan and Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, two renowned media personalities a few weeks ago.
Veteran broadcaster Mike Eghan, who died on June 5, 2025, will be buried on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

For Nana Gyan-Apenteng, however, a forty-day gathering (Adaduanan) will be held in his memory on Friday, June 27, 2025.

The Funeral Service for Mr Eghan, 89, will be held at All Souls Chapel, Lashibi Funeral Home, beginning at 7am.
The ‘Adaduanan’ for Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, a former Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC), will be held at the Forecourt of the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra, beginning at 11am.

The death of the two statesmen is a big loss to the media fraternity in Ghana and the nation as a whole, given the quality services they rendered to Mother Ghana.

While expressing our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, we call on all members of the media fraternity to participate in the schedule funeral activities for the two distinguished media personalities to pay their last respects to them.
