KMA Issues Final Warning to Illegal Transport Operators within CBD

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has issued a final warning to all illegal Operators within the Central District Business (CBD) as part of the Transport Re-Organization Exercise.

A letter to that effect dated 16th August,2023 and signed by Francis Dwira Darko,Metro Co-Ordinating Director for the Metro Chief Executive was heading “FINAL WARNING ILLEGAL OFF-LOADING WITHIN SECTIONS OF THE CITY”.

The letter readsAs part of efforts to ensure a reduction in congestion within the city center, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA) is embarking on Transport Re-Organization exercise in the City. At the quarterly meeting held on 3rd August,2023 with all transport  unions, transport operators and other transport stakeholders ,it was agreed that the Assembly’s Bye-law on off-loading of goods in the Central Business District(CBD)should be adhered to.

In view of this,you are hereby informed that with effect from Monday,21st August,2023,the enforcement team will re-start arresting any vehicle that will flout the rules. Please contact the KMA’s Transport Department or Randy Wilson on 0244540238 for any further details.Thank You.
