The Ashanti Regional Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who doubles as the Dean of all Regional Organisers, Dr. Francis Adomako, aka Francois, has called on all constituency, regional and national officers of the party to stay neutral in the run-up to the flagbearer election on 31st January 2025.

According to him, to ensure fairness and a smooth way of bringing everyone on board for the 2028 general election, there is the need for all constituency, regional and national executives across the country to be neutral.

“All the flagbearer hopefuls are supposed to meet the delegates through the regional and constituency executives before reaching out to the polling stations and electoral area coordinators. If we, who are the executives, do not stay neutral in the contest, how can we be trusted to be fair to all the aspirants?” he asked rhetorically.

He stressed that without unity and togetherness, it would be difficult for anyone to emerge as flagbearer to lead the party to unseat the NDC. “We, therefore, need to do things which can bring us together before, during and after the presidential primary…” he added.

The Ashanti Regional NPP Organiser made the call in an interview with the media during the Bekwai Constituency Delegates’ Congress which was held at Amoafo Pentecost Church on Friday, 5th September 2025.

Several well-known individuals graced the occasion, such as Hon. Raph Poku Aduse Esq, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bekwai Constituency; Hon. Anthony Meah Esq, MP for Odotobri, Kingsley Nana Bonsu-Kyeretwie Esq, Second Chairman of the Manhyia South Constituency; Hon. Joseph Osei Wusu (Joe Wise), former Bekwai MP and the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong Esq, also urged the delegates to offer support and encouragement for the ongoing development in the constituency.

Party executives, delegates and other dignitaries came together at the congress to discuss important issues concerning the party’s future and the constituency.

The excitement and solidarity in the air demonstrated the group’s dedication to strengthen the party’s support base in the run-up to the election.

Besides, Francois called on all the flagbearer hopefuls and their supporters to abide by the guidelines for the election and do a decent campaign devoid of personality attacks and name-calling.

“I wish to appeal to all the flagbearer hopefuls to tell the delegates of NPP what they’re capable of doing should they be given the mandate to lead the party as presidential candidate, instead of insults and other strategies which don’t promote unity and cohesion,” he added.
