The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has appealed to the party to close ranks and support the party’s ultimate aim of recapturing political power in 2018.

Speaking to party executives in the Kwahu enclave of the Eastern region on Friday, Chairman Wontumi noted that inasmuch as the National Party has done well to unite the various supporters after the presidential election, much more is needed to be done to completely bring everyone on board.With the NDC’s haphazard handling of the affairs of the country’s economy, all indications point to the fact that with hard work, commitment and zeal, the NPP stands in a better position to reclaim power, stressing that someone must sacrifice himself to lead the charge to ensure that absolute calm is restored to the party.

“This is where I present myself as the servant that you can trust to unite everyone to ensure that we work for the victory of the NPP and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in 2028.” He emphasised.

Regarding assertions that he lacks the academic credentials to lead the New Patriotic Party, Wontumi, in response, retorted, “Why didn’t they ask for my certificate when I was massively churning out the numbers in the Ashanti region for the party?… Every high-ranking member of this party was waiting for Wontumi’s Ashanti votes… Why didn’t they ask me of my academic credentials then?

And why the sudden craving for my certificate…?

The Ashanti Regional Chairman is spending three days in the Eastern region as part of his nationwide campaign tour to seek support for his national chairmanship bid.
