MTN Ghana donates 700 hampers to babies born on Christmas Day

As part of demonstrating love and giving back to the society to celebrate Christmas festivities, MTN Ghana has distributed seven hundred hampers to babies born on Christmas Day, 25th December, 2025.

It would be recalled that, for 14 years now, the leading telecommunications giant in the country, MTN Ghana, every 26th December, visits selected hospitals across the 16 regions of Ghana to distribute hampers made up of many goodies to babies born on Christmas Day and those born on 26th December.

This year’s gesture was not different from the period gestures by the company, which has received overwhelming recommendations from the beneficiary mothers and health personnel every year.Speaking to journalists on Friday, 26th December, 2025, after the distribution of the hampers to beneficiaries at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH),

 

 

 

Mr Obed Adu-Amankwaah, area sales manager for the Ashanti, Ahafo and Bono East regions, said, ‘In all, the company distributed 700 hampers simultaneously in selected hospitals and clinics across the country.’According to him, out of the number, 310 hampers were distributed in the northern sector, Ashanti, Ahafo Region and Bono East Region, respectively.

Mr Obed Adu-Amankwaah said, “For 14 years now, MTN Ghana has been doing this to show love to mothers who give birth to newborn babies, as we all know Christmas is all about showing love and sharing.” This year, the company is distributing 700 hampers across the country. And for Northern Ghana alone, we’re distributing 310 hampers to babies born on Christmas Day.The main purpose of the gesture is to share joy and love with newborn babies and their mothers and families. In the Ashanti region, the hampers were distributed at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Kumasi Children’s Hospital at Adum Pampaso to mothers who delivered on Christmas Day.

Mrs Dorcas Asamoah Nyamekye, nurse manager of the obstetrics and Gynaecology unit at KATH, on behalf of the hospital and beneficiaries, officially expressed their profound gratitude to MTN Ghana for their annual support. “We truly appreciate what MTN Ghana has done for mothers of the Christmas-born babies. We’re urging them to continue the gesture if possible every three months since many pregnant women who come to give birth really need help or support”.

Mrs Nyamebekyere also encouraged other corporate organisations and institutions to emulate the good gesture of MTN Ghana and always come to the aid of these women.During the distribution session one could notice big joy amidst smiling faces of the beneficiary mothers to demonstrate their appreciation of the surprise donation from MTN Ghana to them.
