The leading telecommunication giant in Ghana,MTN is on track of investing One-billion –dollars in network expansion by end of 2025,Mr.Daniel Asare,the Ag.Chief Enterprise Business Officer of the Company has announced.

According to him, MTN Ghana’s digital ambitions are undergoing 4 big shifts to reach maturity aside supporting Ghana’s Digital agenda USD 25M ICT HUB investment to empower the youth

Mr.Daniel Asare revealed this at the 2023 edition of MTN’s Media & Stakeholders Forum on the theme “LEVERAGING ON TECHNOLOGY TO SERVE CUSTOMERS WITH EXCELLENCE” held at Asokwa Event Centre-Kumasi.
The Ag.Chief Enterprise Business Officer said in line with Merchant interoperability agenda, MTN has partnered Vodafone, promoting industry viability.
He also disclosed that MTN in 2022, contributed over Four billion (Ghc4.0 billion) in Government revenue and Ghc 93.2M invested in social impact projects to touch the lives of over 4.5M Ghanaians
According to him, Momo now has 280,000 agents and 140,000 active Merchants across the country.

That MTN new brand campaign has kicked off; campaign aims to promote going beyond “Doing” Putting control in the hands of customers.Mr.Asare revealed that Ayoba currently has 2.5m customers and 50 micro apps; new opportunities for local developers.

Mr.Daniel Asare however,lamented that the company is faced with a number of challenges.Accordign to him,fiber cut is still a major issue,momo fraud,network challenged,SMP and its impact on the customers.
He therefore appealed to all stakeholders especially the media to continue to help in education of Ghanaians to stop or reduce fiber cuts.
He cautioned MTN Momo users not to give their Momo Pin code to anyone .He assured Ghanaians that, mobile Money operation is highly regulated by Bank of Ghana(BOG) and MTN Officials wouldn’t disclosed the details of their customers to fraudsters.” We’re doing everything within the confines of the license issued to us by BOG for the operations of momo so Ghanaians, especially MTN momo users should be rest assured that their data is highly protected”.
Other officials of the MTN who made presentations particularly, Mr.Simon also stressed the need for all MTN users to be extra vigilant in order not to fall victim to fraudsters of scammers.
