The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region, who is also the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has donated educational materials and assorted drinks to over one thousand five hundred (1,500) schoolchildren within the Kumasi Metropolis to celebrate his belated 56th birthday.

It would be recalled that the friends of the MP, who is popularly known in the political space as Napo, made separate presentations to various schools in the constituency on Thursday, 23rd May 2024.

The Friends of Napo, drawn from the Greater Accra Region and Kumasi, joined the schoolchildren within the Manhyia South Constituency to celebrate Napo’s birthday when he was outside the country.

On Friday, 14th June 2024, Napo himself organised a party and celebrated his birthday with the schoolchildren.

He was joined by chiefs, Manhyia Constituency executives, imams, among other dignitaries, to cut the birthday cake.

He used the occasion to encourage the schoolchildren to take their studies seriously in order to achieve greater heights in all their endeavours.

The schoolchildren and their teachers prayed for Napo to achieve the greatest height in his political career and wished him long life with good health.

The Kumasi Metro Director of Education, Mr. David Oppong,
commended the MP for his love for the schoolchildren.

He advised the children to study hard so that they can become like Napo.

“Let’s help the children, especially in numeracy and literacy,” he stressed.

“We’re most grateful for your kind gesture and may the good Lord bless you for your good intentions, and we pray for long life and good health for you,” he added.
