Former NPP Afigya Kwabre South constituency Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, aka Coka, has stated that the candidate to lead the party ahead of the 2024 elections is already known.
Personalities like Vice President Bawumia, Alan Kyeremateng, and Kennedy Agyapong, among others, have expressed a desire to run for the NPP’s flagbearership.
Several party top management has already endorsed Bawumia and Alan, who have a greater likelihood of becoming the NPP’s flagbearer in the post-Akufo-Addo period.
Speaking on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show on Monday, the erstwhile stated that, amidst many endorsing their chosen candidate, the party knows who will lead.
Thus according to him, the NPP’s top leadership knows who is qualified for the position of flagbearer.
“I believe very well that, our party leaders have already seen who is going to lead us.
I’ve seen him myself. Even if you ask me to pronounce his name, I will, I’ve nothing to lose.”
He was fast to caution party members, particularly ministers and Members of Parliament, to intensify their efforts because Ghanaian electors will evaluate the party in 2024 premised on their (MPs/Ministers) effectiveness.
“… all party members must be careful, especially our ministers and MPs. If we can win in 2024, it will depend on our performance. For this reason, those who have been given positions should not joke, they need to work very hard, because Ghanaian voters will judge us by our performance in government today.” Coka asserted.
