NPP HAS NO BUSINESS LOSING ELECTION 2024-Dr.Amankay declares

On Saturday 25th March, 2023 TESCON KNUST organized an orientation for first year students otherwise known as freshers who had joined the association.

Dr Emmanuel Adu Amankwah popularly known as AMANKAY, who happens to be the chief patron, on behalf all the other patrons advised the first year students to be mindful of the main reason why they are on KNUST campus. They are here first and foremost to study.

Therefore they were advised to take their studies seriously and ensure that they make good grades. Secondly they should plan and manage their time very well while being very active members of TESCON and then work very hard to ensure that this current NPP Government is retained in power come the 2024 elections.

Dr Amankwah (Amankay) mentioned that considering the current developmental projects initiated by the Government, the NPP has no business losing election 2024. He called on the rank and file of the party to close ranks and focus on a United front to convincingly win the 2024 election with a resounding victory.

Amankay explained that recently, at the state of the nation’s address in parliament, the president, informed Ghanaians that his government has performed better than any other government.

This statement made by the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, has not been challenged by the NDC, not even the flag bearer hopeful John Dramani Mahama (JDM) of the NDC. The evidence presented by Nana Addo clearly justifies his claim. While Nana Addo in cumulative terms (Ghana highways, Dept of feeder roads and urban roads) on road records available from 2017-2022 partly reported of 11,974.96 km roads constructed by the NPP, the NDC struggled with 4,636 km from 2009-2016, 8 years interval.

On the economy, Dr Amankwah demonstrated with evidence that the NPP is better managers of the economy than the NDC especially knowing the worth of JDM when he was the president from 2013-2016. In fact from the world bank source as reported by macrotrend.net, JDM mismanaged the economy by causing consistent and significant decrease in our GDP in dollar terms.

Instead of the appreciation of Ghana’s GDP, it decreased from 62 to 54 to 49 and 56 (billion dollars) from 2013-2016. In terms of growth rate it started from 7.31%.

It sharply reduced to 2.86% and then to 2.12% and ended at 3.37%. Dr Amankwah informed the TESCON members of the reason why the country was plunged into dumsor for many years, cancellation of allowances, payment of 3 months pay instead of years salary etc as a result of weakening economy by JDM.

Contrary to this he mentioned that Nana Addo consistently increased the GDP from 56 to 60 to 67 to 68 to 70 and to 78 (billion dollars) from 2017-2021. This in terms of growth rate, was from 3.4 to 8.13, 6.2, 6.52, 0.51 (COVID), 5.36% (post COVID). Apart from these, the ambulances, NIA ID cards, $1 m per constituency, 1D1F, digitization of version’s institutions, Kumasi international airport, various interchanges, various infrastructural developments, etc and the numerous social interventions puts Nana Addo and his government ahead of the major opposition parties. Since the records so far of the NPP is non comparable, the NPP is therefore working hard to break the 8 and therefore has its own record to beat.

Amankay therefore advised the students to be conscious of the lies of the opposition and stay resolute in support of the government. There were other speakers who took turns to advise the students (see below as acknowledged).

Patrick Osei Owusu, the vice president who doubles as the acting TESCON president gave the presidential address. The regional youth organizer Ralph Sarfo Patrick sworn the new members in as official members of the association and automatically the elephant family. He advised the the freshers to work extra hard towards the “breaking the 8 agenda”. He also admonished the executives to come up with strategies to improve the lot of NPP within the catchment area they find themselves in. The National TESCON Coordinator assured members of what they stand to gain from the party and therefore the need to do their possible best to ensure victory for the party come 2024.

On behalf of the patrons, executives and the general assembly we thank the following personalities who were present to support and to grace the occasion.
