Announcing the NEC’s decision to leadership of the Constituency on Thursday, in Fomena, the Regional Chairman of the party in Ashanti, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, said the party is overwhelmed by the kind of support it has enjoyed from the 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, who is currently the independent Member of Parliament for the good people of Fomena.

During an engagement with leadership of the Fomena constituency, as part of the Regional Chairman’s constituency tour, chairman Wontumi, said the party is highly confident that the Fomena seat will return to the NPP with him as its candidate.

To the ruling party, in spite of the 2020 misunderstandings which led to Asiamah, who until, 7th January, 2021, was the NPP MP for the constituency, to win as an independent parliamentary candidate, it was his decision to align with the party that gave them the urge over the NDC.

According to Wontumi, such show of love, support and dedication from Hon. Asiamah should not go unnoticed, expressing the party’s gratitude to him for saving its image in Parliament.

To Bernard Antwi Bosiako, having Andrew Amoako Asiamah, return to his roots is not a business as usual, but it signals the wind of victory for the constituency and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The visibly ecstatic 2nd Deputy Speaker, in his response, said he has missed everything about the party that is forever dear to his heart.

The MP, who doubles as Parliamentary candidate, pledged his readiness to lead the party into a historic landslide electoral victory for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and himself in the Fomena constituency.

He urged all to put behind them, any issue, and work together for the greater good of the party.

To him, what is more important is for the various leaders of the Constituency, particularly Assembly members, to campaign on the many projects currently ongoing in the constituency to garner more votes for the party.

The Regional Chairman’s visit to the Fomena constituency, took him to communities like: Adokwai, Dompoase, Old Edubiase, among others, engaging the constituents on the need to retain the NPP in power, come December 7.
