NPP primaries: NAPO wins Manhyia South

Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region have retained the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Matthew OPoku Prempeh, popularly called Napo, as their representative ahead of the 2024 general election.
The Manhyia South MP, who doubles as the Energy Minister, polled 486 votes (88.5%), beating the other candidate, Madam Helena Pinanmang Owusu, who struggled to obtain 63 votes.
Napo, who is highly tipped as running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has contested the parliamentary election for the fifth time, having won the seat in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020.
