Banning MMDCEs and Constituency Executives from contesting sitting MPs in the New Patriotic Party is a worse situation which will thwart the development of the NPP in election 2024, Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region, Kennedy Kankam has said.

Speaking on hello FM this morning as monitored by Broadcastergh.com ,the Former MP for Nhyiaeso constituency made it clear that the decision by the National Executives of the ruling Party will rather divide the party which will worsen the electoral fortunes of the party.

According to him,the party should rather give equal opportunities to party members but should not think of preventing others from doing the right thing.

“If the Party thinks banning MMDCs from Contesting Sitting MPs will increase the number of MPs in election 2024, that’s not it .The move didn’t help us in election 2020.It even worsened the case.”He boldly told the host.

‘I’m not doing it for my personal gains but the right thing must be done to provide equal opportunities to all.Why can you ban MMDCEs and allow CEOs, Ministers, Deputy Ministers to contest sitting MPs.CEOs,Ministers and Deputies who have more money and influence?.The decision is wrong and Executives must have a second look at the decision.”He added .Source: Ayisah Foster/Broadcastergh.com
