Hon John Kwame Duodu, widely recognized as Sir John, the First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, has emphasized the critical need for robust grassroots-centered leadership as the Party positions itself for a possible victory in the 2028 general elections.
The formidable Ashanti Regional TESCON patron asserted that the NPP in its current state requires leaders who are not only dedicated to the Party but are also deeply connected to the grassroots to nsure effective revival ahead of the 2028 elections.

Sir John underscored the significance of institutional memory and advocated for the Party members to choose leaders at the various levels of the Party who possess comprehensive understanding of the Party’s history, internal dynamics, and operational framework.
“It is essential that we choose leaders who have profound grasp of the Party’s structures, including its strengths and weaknesses,” he stated. He highlighted that such experiences are crucial for addressing the current challenges facing the Party and also towards strategically preparing for the future.
As the Party approaches its internal elections, Sir John urged all prospective candidates to conduct their campaigns with integrity, dignity and respect for other contenders. He advocated for all aspirants of positions at the various levels of the Party hierarchy to focus on articulating their clear visions and policies, rather than engaging in negative campaigning or personal attacks.
“Our campaigns should foster unity, mutual respect for each other and re-energize the grassroots other than deepening our woes ahead of the 2028 elections”, he emphasized.
Touching on the importance of internal cohesion at this crucial moment of the Party, Sir John advocated for all NPP faithfuls to cultivate the culture of mutual respect, support for one another and accountability from Party leadership.
He also emphasized that loyalty, commitment and devotion are essential to rebuilding and strengthening the Party from within. “Collective action rooted in trust and ethical conduct is vital for the Party’s resurgence,” Sir John stated.
Sir John stressed further that the NPP’s success over the years hinges on its ability to unite its support base around shared goals and values. “We must demonstrate our unwavering commitment to the Party’sprinciples and ideals in these trying times,” he urged.
He ended by encouraging all members to transcend beyond internal bickering and divisions and collaborate effectively for the greater good of the Party.
