Otumfuo blesses Alan K to contest NPP Flagbearer race
Asantehene,Outmfuo Ossi Tutu II,has given his blessings to Hon Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten to contest NPP flagbearership race when leadership of the party officially opens nomination.
According to Otumfuo, he knows Alan’s upbringing of humility and therefore blesses him with God and the golden stool.
The King of Asante Kingdom said he knows definitely that all other flagbearer hopefuls of the party will come to seek his blessings.
He said as a King his doors are opened for all.
Otumfuo therefore advises all NPP flagbearer hopefuls to remember that no matter what human being does God is the King maker.
The Asantehene gave the advised at Manhyia palace on Monday, 30th January, 2023 when Hon.Alan Kyerematen and his entourage formerly informed him about his resignation, intention to contest NPP flagbearership race and to seek his blessings.
Otumfuo advises NPP delegates to elect a candidate who would be acceptable by majority of Ghanaians not the candidate they (NPP) prefers.
Hon.Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen,the former Minister of Trade and Industry earlier on heaps praises on Otumfuo for the massive support he gave him as a Trade Minister.
He assured Otumfuo and Asanteman that when he is given the nod as NPP flagbearer and subsequently become President, he will always seek their advice to develop the country.
Adding that “Otumfuo if I’m given the nod to become NPP flagbearer and subsequently President,I will not disappoint you”.
The former Trade Minister made his first appearance in the NPP flagbearership race in 2017 and lost narrowly to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He also mentioned some achievements under his leadership as Trade and Industry Minister for Six (6) year .
According to him,through his initiative of One District One Factory (1D1F),296 factories have been implemented through out the country.
He said out of the number, 47 factories are in the Ashanti region.
According him,aside that Six (6) Companies have begun Assembling their cars in Ghana through his industrialization agenda which was fully supported by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo which he (Alan) intends to build upon.
Hon.Alan Kyeremanten revealed also that plans were far advanced for the Greater Kumasi Industrial City program.
The former Trade Minister then proceeded to hold a close door meeting with Ashanti regional executives of NPP before addressing NPP supporters at Heroes Park.
At Heroes Park, Hon.Alan Kyeremanten thanks the supporters and residents of the region for acchim a rousing welcome
He also informed the supporters that when the party opens nomination he will contest for the flagbearer.and appeals for their prayers and support.
Hon.Ayiko Otoo,former Attorney General, Boniface Saddiqe,former Minister for Inner city &Zongo Ministry, Ambassador, ,Hon.Collins Owusu Amankwah,former MP for Manhyia North,Hon.Hilda Josephine Addo,former MP Kwadaso,Hopson Adoye,Nana Ohene Now, Hon.Carlos Ahinkrah,Hon.Eugune Boakye Antwi,MP for Subin,Hon Patricia Appiagyei,MP for Asokwa were among the tall list of dignitaries who accompanied Hon.Alan Kyeremanten to Manhyia Palace.
