Mr.Sampson Asaki Awingobit,the National Chairman hopeful for the People’s National Congress(PNC),has predicted to win the race in the Party’s national delegates conference slated for Saturday,7th September,2024 in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.
He said “I’m very hopeful of winning the chairmanship race hands down because the incumbent executives have failed the party woefully and doesn’t deserve re-election”.
According to him, if given the mandate by the delegates, he will work assiduously together with other executives from the constituency level to the national to ensure massive membership drive.
“I am the best candidate to win Saturday’s National Chairmanship race, and wish all of you (delegates) to join the winning team.
I’m promising you that, if given the nod as the next Chairman of PNC,I will be a transformational leader to ensure that PNC becomes one of the most attractive political parties to attract majority of Ghanaians, especially those, who are yearning for alternative to both the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) and the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the national elections.

Mr.Awingobit,stated this during a meeting with Ashanti regional delegates of PNC, held at Suame Methodist on Tuesday,3rd September,2024.He said PNC needs very credible executives to steer the affairs of the party devoid of disunity, and that he stands tall among all the aspiring National Chairman hopefuls.
The current national executives, he said have failed the party and need to be shown the exit.
“After 2024 Polls, we’re going out right away to embark on unannounced visits to liaise with the various constituencies and Regional executives, across the country, to do aggressive membership mobilization through rebranding and house to house campaign.
According to him, they’re going to continue the monthly outreach in order to rebuild the party(PNC) for massive membership mobilization drive.
“Let’s have good numbers so that even if our Flagbearer is not able to win an election,we can push the election to a rub-off. According to him,when that was done both NPP and NDC would come to them for negotiation.
“We (PNC) need strong leadership to run the affairs of the party. According to him,in politics popularity counts, let consider to vote for known and competent candidates.
He revealed that, in the run-up to the 2024 National Executives election of the party, he bought air conditioners to be installed at the national headquarters’ offices, but update the current national Executives were yet to install them. He, therefore, called on the delegates to vote out the incumbent executives and give him, and other competent aspirants for the national executive positions. Awingobit, also called on the Party delegates to vote massively for the former General Secretary,who doubles as former National Chairman of the party,Mr.Bernard Mornah,as the party’s 2024 flagbearer.
