By Kofi Owusu

The Paramount Chief for the Prang Traditional Area in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, has underscored the need for the Mahama government to fast-track the completion of Prang Agenda 111 hospital project.

According to him, the project is strategically located and there is the need for the government to pay much attention to it.

In an interaction with “The New Trust” newspaper, Nana Nyarko said the recent “Thank you tour” by President John Dramani Mahama afforded him the opportunity to acquaint himself with programmes and policies which he (Pranghene) described as laudable.

He said at a durbar to welcome the President in Techiman, the regional capital, the President catalogued a number of projects he intended doing and those to be continued initiated by the previous government.

The Pranghene added that he was particularly happy to hear President Mahama’s intentions to address the health needs of Ghanaians.

“I am humbly appealing to his Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, if the need arises, to tackle Agenda 111 hospitals in the country to start from Prang. This is because the Prang project is strategically placed to handle referral cases from Yeji, Abease, Atebubu, Kwame Danso, Kajeji without going to Kumasi,” he explained.

According to him, his main headache is the stalled project and he would be more grateful to see the project being completed and commissioned to help people access quality health care.

Besides, Nana Nyarko commended President Mahama for promising to continue the road project from Prang through Abease to Kintampo started by the previous government.

He said the promise by the President to also tar the road from Atebubu -Kajeji, Ejura-Atebubu, Techiman through Nkoranza to Atebubu is also a laudable idea.

“These roads when completed will not only benefit farmers to transport their farm produce to the marketing centres but also eliminate the rate of robbery cases in these areas,” he added.
