PRINPAG OPENS BOOK OF CONDOLENCE IN HONOUR OF THE LATE EDWARD ELORM KOBLA DESEWU

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) announces with deep sorrow the passing of our esteemed colleague, Mr. Edward Elorm Kobla Desewu, a distinguished member of the Ghanaian media fraternity and former Executive of the Association.

Mr. Desewu, Founder and Managing Editor of The Economy Times Newspaper, former Secretary of PRINPAG, former PRINPAG Representative on the National Media Commission (NMC), and a revered contributor to journalistic excellence in Ghana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, 25th December 2025, after a short admission at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital).

A committed journalist with over two decades of impactful service, Mr. Desewu dedicated his life to advancing financial literacy, economic reporting, and industrial communication for national development. His passion, integrity, and selfless devotion to the profession earned him admiration across the media landscape. Indeed, a great giant has fallen, and his contributions will forever remain a reference point in our nation’s media history.

OPENING OF BOOK OF CONDOLENCE

In honour of his memory, PRINPAG will open a Book of Condolence at the PRINPAG Secretariat. Members, colleagues, and sympathizers are invited to sign and pay their respects.

 

 

Venue: PRINPAG National Secretariat (Kokomlemle, Adjacent Movie House plaza)
Dates: Tuesday, 30th December 2025 – Thursday, 1st January 2026
Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm daily

All members are strongly encouraged to visit and participate in this solemn exercise as we stand together to honour the legacy of our departed brother.

STANDING WITH THE FAMILY

The National Executive Committee entreats all members to remember the bereaved family in prayers and to offer support during this difficult period. Further announcements regarding the funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.

May the soul of Mr. Edward Elorm Kobla Desewu rest peacefully in the bosom of the Almighty God.
