The letter reads:”We refer to our earlier letter of even reference dated 24th April,2024 on the above subject matter and hereby wish to clarify the content.

3.All MMDAs are to note that the amounts stated in the said letter in connection with the payment of End-Of-Service emolument for Hon.Assembly members was a guide to be used to determine emolument for those whose tenure ended in 2023.
- MMDAs are thus not bound by these figures and could make a determination of amounts to be paid, based on their circumstances.

It would be recalled that, their Ministry in its earlier letter, proposed Ghc 3,500,Ghc:3,000 and Ghc 2,500 as payment of End-of –Service emolument for Members in Metropolitan,Municipal and District Assemblies, who tenure ended in December,2023. The proposed figures didn’t go down well with them, leading to a petition by Conference of Ashanti Regional Presiding Members(PMs) last week for the Ministry to come back again on their earlier proposal. It’s therefore, refreshing news to the members of various Assemblies with the latest clarification.
