As a student of politics and development studies ,I subscribe to the call by all well meaning party faithfuls of NDC to have a holistic post audit- analysis of the strength ,weakness and effective functioning of our branches and branch executives throughout the country ,especially in conservative constituencies which are within NPP strongholds so as to get the best/desired results of the party in 2024 and any future elections.
Until the party roll out these strategies and get to this stage, let me comment briefly about Hon. Rockson Dafeamekpor earlier tweet on 23/05/20233.
Firstly, the available certified results of all the 76 branch/polling station in Kumawu constituency reveals that what the venerable member tweeted was completely false , and such unverified assertions needed not to have come from an honouring member of his caliber
. Granted that the said votes were told ,as a honourable member who occasionally sits on strategic meetings and policy directions platforms of the party and the state ,he ought to have known that putting this facts could have worsen the plight of the party in these branches/constituency.

Secondly ,,as a seasoned politician, Hon Dafeamekpor ought to have known that what was as take for the electorates in that constituency was elections of a member of parliament.
Per his long years of participation in elections ,his experiences should have taught him a lesson that in parliamentary elections especially under a bye- elections context ,many a time the dynamics that will inform a voter to cast his/her ballot in favour of candidate/party A or B ordinarily goes beyond political party affiliations as compared to Presidential elections where the stakes are high ,most especially for opposition/minority party members who are certain that based on the previous voting pattern or performance /gabs their party’s candidate can’t win the elections ,therefore using the just ended bye-elections results of polling stations to question the fidelity of the branch executives in Kumawu was ill conceived and part of a continuous grand but subtle attempt to also question the fidelity of Ashanti NDC comrades in conservative NPP constituencies in Ashanti region .
Equally ,as high ranking member of NDC ,Hon Rockson Dafeamekpor ought to have known that , the NDC as a party prior to the final declarations of the polling station results by the EC had demonstrated and offered varied forms of evidence to the whole world of the unprecedented financial and monetary inducement schemes which NPP initiated to be able to lure their support based and electorates to vote for them to win their own seat in one of their most conservative strongholds,- Kumawu.
Subsequently. If the narratives of the NDC party is true/factual what’s is the basis of impugning malice into the status of our branch executives in Kumawu ?
When as a party ,we have hard core evidence of how the ruling party spent huge amount of money to induce voters , why must senior party comrades and non-Asante play the ostrich instead of identifying means of breaking into the NPP hegemony in Ashanti’s ?
Aside ,a short comparative analysis of NDC’s Parliamentary votes in 2020 general elections and the 2023 bye- elections indicates an appreciation of NDC’s votes , this the party members Nationwide should be magnimous about and pad the shoulders of our gallant comrades and all who voted for NDC in Kumawu instead of the vilification mood ,some leading members have activated in our internal social media platforms.
As a progressive party instead of our non -Asante party leadership and comrades analysing the entire game plan of NPP as they exhibited in Kumawu of which their GS- Justin Kodua ,former GS J.B , Wuntumi eta’l articulated in the media prior to the close of the polls and the declaration in the just ended Kumawu bye -elections such as using the Kumawu bye-elections as a dress rehearsal of their strategies, plans and systems of collation as well as the testing of their possible strategies in 2024; NDC non-Asante faithfuls have decided to read malice into the performance of the party branch executives in Kumawu ,an Asante dominated constituency.
If the statements of the NPP leadership is anything to go by what I expected from our MP and comrades who started trolling our Kumawu branch executives is/was to begin to red flag this huge money/financial inducement strategy of NPP government as a possible threat to our victory in 2024.
As per what was witnessed in Kumawu , money/financial inducement could easily helped change the minds of the suffering Ghanaian who had earlier vowed to vote out NPP government prior to the elections to voting for the same NPP and it’s flagbearer in 2024 to continue their mess although such voters are filling the pinch of the economic mismanagement and hardship.
These and many more are what as a Party we should be worried over .
However ,I am not surprised because not too long ago when the Oti regional Chairman questioned why an Asante should be elected as NDC Flagbearer because of this subtle but grand attempt to question the fidelity of all Asante’s to NDC , the party went into hibernation and no non -Asante was bold to condemn that dispicable statement.
Let’s all begin to train our branch agents on branch grassroots mobilization , recruit and train polling agents on time ,put in place measures to identify whom we suspect have received inducement from NPP and are compromised etc at the branch levels among others to put us in shape for 2024.
Interestingly ,the reverse logic of Hon Dafiamekpor assertions means that NDC’s should have gotten 684 votes in all the 76 polling stations. That is (76*9=684) yet we got over 3000 votes
Let’s stop this hate analysis against this region and indegenes in the region .
If care is not taken ,NDC will pay dearly for this pathetic way in which non- Asantie’s in the party always and hurriedly reduce our efforts to reach out to many of our Asante folks to zero by their statements.
I am not by any means holding brief for/on any weak or compromise branch executives in the Ashanti region but be progressive instead of retrogressive .
Let’s work on on our branches where guniunely there are weakness or lapses to make meaningful impacts in the Ashanti region.
Thanks
