Attempts by some faceless persons to blackmail former District Chief Executive (DCE) of Amansie Central, Hon.Kwame Asamoah Boateng has been exposed.
Painstaking investigations by TNT Investigative Desk in collaboration with Punch Newspaper among others have revealed that the former DCE was rather fighting against illegal miners in the area.
It has been uncovered that some key politicians in the area and a chief who are behind the circulation of the alleged arrest of Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng and fake soldiers for alleged stealing of mining equipment, extortion of money and harassment of miners were even more guilty than their victim.

The faceless people, it has emerged, embarked on this dangerous wild goose chase upon directives from some selfish and greedy politicians who are well bent on hampering the fight against illegal mining.
Credible police and military sources have revealed that the three (3) alleged fake military officers who were waiting for the former DCE and his entourage at Afoako junction on their way to Jacobu was rather genuine Military personnel with 4BN but was accidentally picked up by the police for their alleged involvement in the accusation against the former DCE because they were seen at the same spot(Afoako junction)
It has emerged that the personnel are currently under going military punishment for going out beyond a distance to meet someone without authorization even though,they were off duty.
Our Source said one of the personnel (name withheld) is a friend to the nephew of Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng and was accompanied by his two colleagues to meet him for a discussion before they reported to work on that faithful evening .
But just as the personnel who were in their military uniform showed up from a nearby fuel station at Afoako junction, they were met with a team of police who had been sent by their command to meet Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng to invite him to report to the police station over a complaint received against him .

The investigation has revealed that the police didn’t arrest the former DCE and the personnel from any mining site as has been reported by the section of the media.
The Former DCE and his entourage according to source were on their way to Jacobu,the district capital to make a case against illegal mining activities still going on at Akwansra lands under Bekwai-Akwamu Stool lands after he had taken several measures to get rid of the illegal miners from the site.
The source said the former DCE and his entourage managed to remove Control board and few equipment from the excavators as evidence to present to the police and also to prevent the illegal miners from continuing their activities but were met at Afoako junction one of the main roads leading to Jacobu, the district capital by the police following false complained against them.
The said items are currently under the police custody.
According to our source, the former DCE and his entourage decided to remove some parts of the excavators after the illegal miners flee away upon seeing them because he had earlier on stormed the site with police personnel for about three(3) occasions to warn them to desist from mining in those areas.
According to Source,the tour by the former DCE was a follow-up to check if the illegal miners had heeded to several warnings to them to vacate the lands because the family was not aware of the claimed by the galamseyers that the lands have been sold out to them.
Another sources within galamseyers said what happened was a calculated attempt to blackmail the former DCE and have their way out to continue to embark on their mining since the former DCE has become a stumbling block to them.
A number of galamseyers who spoke to our team admitted that Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng has not taken any money from them even when he was in office as DCE and out office.
They also collaborated our investigation that it was purely political strategy to tarnish the hard won reputation of the former DCE ahead of NPP Parliamentary since he is seen as a big threat to some selfish politicians ambition.
