70% OF GHANAIANS DEPEND ON ALTERNATIVE HEALTHCARE PRACTICES-CEO of HEPA PLUS REVEALS

The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Ebenage Herbal Production & Consult, Dr.Ebenezer Agyemang has revealed that Seventy (70%) of Ghanaians depend on alternative health care practices (GHP, 2007). The CEO of who doubles as the Founder of Abapa Mall (Online Shopping) and founder of Hepa plus Pharmacy (Digital Pharmacy/ Health  shopping) announced this at the KNUST Department of Herbal Medicine symposium in Kumasi.

 

He spoke on the theme “THE STATE OF THE INTEGRATION OF HERBAL AND ORTHODOX MEDICINE IN GHANA: THE ROLE OF KNUST”.

He said the Department of Herbal Medicine at K.N.U.S.T seeks to produce a crop of Practitioners with formal knowledge of herbal medicines from the conceptual view point as in allopathic medicine (Adusi-Poku et al., 2010).

Dr.Ebenezer Agyemang who holds BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in Herbal Medicine (KNUST) and MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety (KNUST) said “many of us from this department are contributing to health and the general economy of Ghana in diverse ways. Either directly/indirectly through the Practice of herbal Medicine.
Thanks to the selfless contributions of staff in the University .Such Fatherly support birthed the greatness out of me. The role of KNUST cannot be over mentioned”, he stressed.
