70% win for Bawumia will make it easy to unify NPP after presidential Primary-Former Majority leader

Mr.Osei Kyei- Mensah- Bonsu, a seasoned and astute member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has suggested that a decisive victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s presidential primaries, by a margin of around 70 percent, would significantly ease efforts to unify the party afterward.

Speaking on The Punch show on Kessben TV, hosted by Wofa Kofi Appiah, the former Majority Leader emphasized that a commanding win sends a clear signal of broad-based support within the party.

According to Osei Kyei- Mensah -Bonsu, such a margin would reduce post-primary tensions and make reconciliation smoother, as it limits disputes over legitimacy and direction.

He noted that unity is critical as the NPP prepares for the next general election, and a clear outcome in the primaries would allow the party to quickly refocus its energy on campaigning and policy messaging.

He further urged party members to prioritize cohesion over factional interests, stressing that the ultimate goal is electoral victory. With unity, discipline, and a shared purpose, he argued, the NPP would be better positioned to consolidate its base and appeal to the wider electorate following the primaries.source:kessbenonline.com
