The African Electoral Institute (AEI) would like to extend its warmest congratulations to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on his well-deserved victory in the 2024 presidential election in Ghana. Official results released confirmed that the opposition candidate and former President secured 56.5% of the votes, defeating incumbent Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia who garnered 41.6%.
This election is a testament to the strength of Ghana’s democracy and the trust the people have placed in President-elect Mahama’s leadership.
His commitment to advancing democracy, peace, and development in Ghana and Africa has been evident throughout his campaign.
We are confident that his administration will prioritize the welfare and prosperity of all Ghanaians, building on the progress made during his previous tenure.
The AEI commends the Electoral Commission of Ghana for conducting a peaceful and transparent election process. We also applaud the Ghanaian people for their active participation and enthusiasm throughout the electoral process.
Please join us in congratulating President-elect Mahama as he prepares to assume office. We look forward to working with his administration to strengthen democratic institutions and promote good governance in Ghana.
