During our recent Parliamentary Select Committee on Local Government and Rural Development sittings where MMDAs from the Western and Western North Regions appeared to present their 2025 audit Committee reports,a crucial issue of social protection took center stage.
My colleague on the Committee, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni (MP for Okaikwei North), made an urgent call on the Suaman District Assembly to immediately disburse funds meant for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under their apprenticeship programme, demanding concrete evidence of verification.

I fully stand with this call. The disability support component of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) is meant to build skills, restore dignity, and create sustainable livelihoods. Administrative delays must not deny beneficiaries what is rightfully theirs.
