The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana,Dr.Mahamudu Baeumia,has been confirmed as the Flagbearer-elect for the governing New Patriotic Patty (NPP) Presidential candidate elections.

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana which conducted the polls held on Saturday,4th November,2023 across 276 constituencies including the polling centre at the national headquarters in Accra has announced.

Dr.Serebour Quaicoe,the Director of Elections said Dr.Baeumia won with 118,210 votes representing 61.47%.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong,the MP for Assin Central came second with 71,996 votes (37.42%) followed by Dr.Owusu Akoto Afriyie,the former Minister of Food and Agriculture pulling 1,449 votes(0.75%) and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Mampong obtaining 781 votes representing 0.41% respectively

The official declaration of the results by the Electoral Commission which preceded the out-dooring of Dr.Bawumia as NPP 2024 Flagbearer at Accra Spots Stadium  was attended by the three(3) other contestants; Kennedy Ohene Agyapong,Dr.Owusu Akoto Afriyie as well as Francis Addai-Nimoh.
