Beatrice Spio-Garbrah, a Kumasi based journalist and staff of Media General is aspiring to be the Regional Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
Speaking to this reporter, Ms Spio-Garbrah said she wants to help disseminate information timeously to members of the Association.
She promises to use her affable and approachable personality to ran an open door administration to encourage more journalists in the region to join the Association.

This, she intimated would enable them benefit from media capacity building trainings and programmes .
Additionally, Ms Spio-Garbrah aims at ensuring the welfare, freedom and rights of journalists in the region are highly protected
“The Ashanti GJA deserves a Secretary cast in the character and values I represent including the trait of being able to connect well with members and can together help build a stronger relationship among members of the GJA and other stakeholders in the Ashanti Region”, the aspirant intimated

As a Broadcast Journalist with the Media General Group, her dedication and passion for storytelling have earned her numerous awards.
Before joining Media General, Beatrice had worked with Kapital Radio and was the Ashanti Regional Correspondent for Metro TV.
With a foundation rooted in Communication Studies from Christian Service University (CSU) in Kumasi, Beatrice has honed her craft over two decades, mastering her art in her field of science reporting.

Her repertoire extends far beyond the ordinary, as she specializes in health reporting, and shedding light on crucial issues affecting communities.
Known for her compelling feature stories on health, Beatrice delves deep into topics ranging from public health initiatives to personal health journeys, captivating audiences with her insightful stories.
Beatrice is currently the Radio News Editor/News Producer for Akoma FM, a subsidiary of Media General Group.
Status:
She is currently the Host of the Akoma FM’s Flagship Afternoon Social Program Akoma Mu Ns3m, which delves into relationship, health, land and legal issues among others sticking to high standards of professionalism.
Her years of professionalism and high journalistic standards earned her selection by the US Embassy in Ghana to participate in the prestigious IVLP three weeks Exchange Programme in the United States of America in September 2024.
