An ambitious and radical effort by Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and his movement for Change to roll out its membership mobilization campaign in the Ashanti region- the political ‘world bank’ for the ruling NPP- has hit the rocks, as their targets seem less interested in such ventures of the former Trade and Industries Minister.
Already, what was envisioned by the movement, to register at least, Two Hundred volunteers from each polling station within the region has become a façade, with the project posing a daunting task than they originally anticipated.
At Asafo Market and its environs, members of the Movement for Change, clad in yellow club T-shirt, were seen briskly engaging traders and passer-by, in a bid to enroll them as volunteers for Alan Kyerematen.
However, their efforts seem not be enough to convince these traders and the people on why they should substitute the NPP for Alan, in the region.
As at day one of the volunteerism exercise, only Twenty-Two (22) persons had written their names with them, a movement member told this reporter.
This outlet also understands that, between the late hours of Tuesday, 31st October, and Wednesday, November 1, 2023, nearly a hundred recruits who were billed for this assignment, had angrily withdrawn from the project, citing deceit and mistrust as reasons from stepping out.

AAccording to information gathered, each of the recruit was to receive an amount of One Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis as allowance. But, to their surprise, only Seventy Ghana Cedis was rather given them; a deceitful act which they do not wish to be part of.
What remains amusing is the fact that even those leading the charge for the volunteer registration, themselves do not understand what is at stake; what the movement and Alan stand for in this new venture, and as a result, failed to provide answers posed to them by the public.
A video chanced on by this outlet depicted the lack of interest of traders, hawker, drivers and other patrons of Asafo market, when contacted by the members of the movement.
