Dr Amoakohene led a delegation comprising some Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), members of the NDC branch in Ejura and the Member of Parliament for the Ejura Sekyere-Dumase Constituency to pay homage to the Ejurahene and his elders during the festival.

Addressing the gathering, the Regional Minister said President John Dramani Mahama had asked the delegation to join the people of Ejura in celebrating the festival and sharing in the community’s cultural heritage.

He said the donation was intended to support the Ejurahene’s philanthropic initiative and contribute to the establishment of a facility that would improve the welfare and future prospects of vulnerable children.

The Regional Minister also underscored the government’s commitment to promoting infrastructural development in Ejura, assuring the people of continued attention to their developmental needs.

The orphanage project is expected to provide a supportive environment for abandoned children, orphans and destitute children, with access to quality education, vocational training and professional healthcare services.

In response, the Ejurahene, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, Dr Frank Amoakohene, the MMDCEs and the Ashanti Regional NDC for their contribution towards the project.

He called on other individuals, organisations and well-meaning Ghanaians to support the initiative to ensure the timely completion of the facility and improve the lives of vulnerable children in Ejura and beyond.
